❤️🖤 THAT'S A WRAP ON BLACKHAWK WALK 2026! 🖤❤️

We started with a goal of $20,000, and thanks to our incredible Blackhawk community, we didn't just reach it…

🎉 WE RAISED $27,173! 🎉

Every step walked, every dollar donated, and every bit of encouragement helped make this year's Blackhawk Walk an incredible success!

A HUGE thank you to our students, families, teachers, staff, sponsors, and volunteers who made it all possible. From daily Prize Patrol surprises to Walk Day excitement and classroom celebrations, there were so many wonderful moments along the way!

And of course, one more round of applause for our top fundraising classrooms! 👏

🍦 1st Place: Mrs. Waters' Class - $2,886.51

🍦 2nd Place: Mrs. Johnson's Class - $2,861.00

🍿 3rd Place: Mrs. Topper's Class - $1,953.32

Because of YOU, Sheridan Elementary PTO can continue supporting our students, teachers, and classrooms throughout the school year.

We've put together a little look back at all the fun, hard work, and celebrations that made Blackhawk Walk 2026 so special. 🎬

And as we head into Fall Break, we want to wish all of our Blackhawk families, teachers, and staff a wonderful, well-deserved break!

Whether you're traveling, enjoying some fall fun, or simply relaxing at home, we hope your days are filled with rest, laughter, and a little adventure.

Happy Fall Break, Blackhawks! ❤️🖤🍂

🌟❤️🖤 PTO SPOTLIGHT - MEET ERIN MERRILL-MACY! 🖤❤️🌟

It’s time for our next PTO Spotlight, and this month we’re introducing our Vice President, Erin Merrill-Macy!

And when we say … Erin understood the assignment!

Erin is a born and bred Sheridan Blackhawk, graduating from Sheridan in 2001. After chiropractic school, she made her way back home to Sheridan, where she and her husband, Travis, are now raising three Blackhawks of their own - Auburn, Ralston and Ayers!

And Travis? Well… he started out as a Shamrock, but Erin says he has reluctantly converted to sporting black, white and red. 😂
Hey, a win is a WIN! We’ll take it!

Sheridan has been home to Erin’s family for generations, and giving back to this community has always been important to her.
Before PTO, Erin was already busy volunteering with organizations including the Sheridan Community Recreation Board, Sheridan Chamber of Commerce, Sheridan FFA and Sheridan Youth Assistance.

So when her kids started at Sheridan Elementary, joining PTO just made sense.

❤️ “Becoming involved in the Sheridan Elementary PTO seemed like a natural fit.”

It gave her another way to be involved in the community she loves while also becoming more connected to her children’s school and activities.

🎪 Her favorite PTO event? THE CARNIVAL!

Erin loves seeing the hallways, gym and playground packed with students and families just having FUN together, and we have a feeling she’ll be right in the middle of it again this year.

And because we need to know the important things…

🔥 She LOVES hot yoga - and apparently the hotter, the better.
💧 Forget coffee or tea. Give her SUPER cold ice water.
🍰 She’s Team Sweet, and an Applebee’s Blondie is her favorite.
🌙 She’s a night owl at heart… but will absolutely get up early if there are things that need DONE.
📍 And her favorite local spot? Creekside Chiropractic.
Shocking, Erin. Absolutely shocking. 😉

Erin’s story is one of our favorite things about Sheridan.
Growing up a Blackhawk, coming home, raising the next generation here and continuing to give back to the community that helped raise you.

Thank you, Erin, for everything you do for our students, families, school and community!

Drop Erin some ❤️ in the comments!

💗 A little reminder that Mrs. Waters’ Care Closet is here all year long! 💗

As the seasons change, so do the needs of our students and families.

The Care Closet provides necessities to those who need a little extra support - and our community helps make that possible.
Want to help keep the shelves stocked?

The Care Closet is in need of:
-chapstick
-lotion
-hand sanitizer
-toothpaste

Thank you for always showing up for our Blackhawks. ❤🖤

❤️🖤 BLACKHAWKS… LOOK WHAT YOU DID. 🖤❤️

We started Blackhawk Walk week with one BIG goal:

🎯 $20,000

Sheridan… you raised:

🔥$26,923!🔥

That’s $6,923 OVER our goal and $3,419 MORE than last year’s incredible $23,504 total!

And apparently, while the rest of us are ready to call it a day, Waters and Johnson have other plans. 👀

The race for our top classroom is coming down to the WIRE, so we’re holding off on crowning our Ice Cream Party and Popcorn Party winners until everything is officially finalized.

We DO have two brand-new bikes headed to our top individual fundraising leaders! 🚲🎉

Girls' fundraising leader from Johnson’s class!
Boys' fundraising leader from Waters’ class!

And because you didn’t just reach our goal - you absolutely BLEW PAST IT - we have one more surprise…

🎁 PRIZE PATROL IS BEING QUADRUPLED! 🎁

🔥 8 winners from EVERY GRADE
🎉 40 PRIZE PATROL WINNERS TOTAL!

Every fundraising page shared, envelope returned, handful of change collected, and donation from a parent, grandparent, friend, neighbor, sponsor or community member helped make this HAPPEN.

$26,923.

That’s 26,923 reasons to be BLACKHAWK PROUD. ❤️🖤

To our students, families, teachers, staff, volunteers, sponsors and the entire Sheridan community:

THANK YOU.

You showed up for our amazing kids in a BIG way.

❤️🖤 OUR SPONSOR CREW JUST GREW! 🖤❤️

We’re adding one more name to our Blackhawk Walk Sponsor Love wall!

Welcome, Stine Seed, as a Bronze Sponsor of the 2026 Blackhawk Walk!

We’ve been lucky to recognize some amazing businesses and organizations throughout the week, and we’re so excited to add Stine Seed to the group supporting our Blackhawks.

Thank you, Stine Seed, for investing in our students and helping those little feet make a BIG impact! 👟❤️🖤

And another huge thank you to ALL of our Blackhawk Walk sponsors who helped make this week possible. We are so grateful for the way our community continues to show up for our kids!
