Took this dork out for a solo ride on Saturday at gunpowder/prettyboy. He was good, especially considering his a 3.5 year old stallion.
I must also give a shoutout to Renegade Hoof Boots- many many years ago before it was a “thing” I was trained on correct barefoot trimming- even using cadaver feet for training and education. I spent YEARS toying with boots of many makes and sizes and eventually gave up and put shoes back on- resigning myself to a “necessary evil”…
Fast forward about a decade and a half later- I found myself reluctant to put shoes on a 3 year old - but I had NO luck whatsoever with the old cavallos I was using (In fact- I lost one in the mountains and never did find it) and the Easy Boot Epics had for my old event horse were way too big- and the sizing was too elongated for PB who’s hooves are exactly as wide as long…
So, I finally bit the bullet, and ordered a set of neon orange Renegades, and I must say that have been pretty amazing. I’ve only taken him out twice so far- but extremely rocky mountainous terrain, and walk, gait, and galloping- they stayed on.
Must say I’m impressed. I was a skeptic 🤨 but I have to say- I’m dang impressed. And Pl***oy moves nice with them too!
