Flowers are delicate and have a limited lifespan. I have learned that it is often best to make a swift decision to adjust when a flower is not thriving. This can sometimes occur at the seedling stage, or even with tulips deteriorating in storage. This year, for instance, we observed two tulip varieties that appeared unusual in the field. We harvested them during a 90-degree spring heatwave, but they unfortunately did not recover in the cooler and were subsequently composted. In addition we were unable to dry store tulips this year because the heat moved things way too fast. Rolling with it over here!
