Our final first freshener, Painted Pepper HP Lucky Strike, surprised us today with a pasture kidding we didn’t even notice until we were rounding all the does up to head back to the barn! She never made a peep! There in the late afternoon sun were three flashy cuties sired by Rosasharn CRU Tango for Two — two doelings and a buckling.

Today’s easy milking-time kidding was from our 4 year-old Painted Pepper OMG Honeysuckle 3*M, one of our favorite does both in terms on production and conformation — and how wonderful they are all girls! Sired by our *B Painted Pepper OMT Koala, these three doelings are such a flashy variety — we had fun naming them as well with a nod to Sister D of Deer Park Monastery and her famous Yin-Yang InterBean ☯️We are retaining all at this time but may offer one later in the season.

Today Painted Pepper HP Cornflower — the third of our four expecting first fresheners — kidded with ease, she never even laid down! Litter mate & full sister of Painted Pepper HP Constance who kidded last Saturday, she is also out of Maiah’s 4-H doe Painted Pepper PE GiGi 4*M and these kids — 2 doelings and a buckling just like her sister had — are also sired by Rosasharn CRU Tango for Two.

As we did with Constance’s kids, we are staying with our “Redwall” story names with these namings — this time from Book 2: Mossflower.
