WHAT. A. DAY!!!!
Our Grand Opening at Da Bayou Lady Takery & Catering was everything we prayed for and SO MUCH MORE!!!
I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is so incredibly full. ❤️
When we took this leap of faith, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We just knew God had opened a door, and we were going to walk through it. There have been long days, sleepless nights, tears, frustrations, and plenty of moments when I’ve questioned whether I could really do this.
But TODAY. Today reminded me exactly WHY we do what we do.
To every single person who walked through our doors, hugged our necks, shopped with us, celebrated with us, shared our posts, or simply said a prayer for us — THANK YOU!!!
Seeing our little community show up and show OUT for us is something I will never, ever forget. You didn’t just come to support a business. You came to support a dream, a family, and something that has been built with so much love, hard work, and faith.
And YES, if you walked in and saw me dancing to Zydeco in the front room of the Takery, you absolutely saw that right! 😂💃⚜️ Listen, I’m gonna have a GOOD TIME no matter where I’m at, and if there’s music playing, you can bet your bottom dollar I’m gonna DANCE!!! Life is too short not to enjoy it, and goodness gracious, if there was ever a reason to dance, TODAY WAS IT!!! A little piece of my Mississippi and Louisiana roots right here in Stockdale, Texas! ❤️
To our family and friends who have poured into us, helped us, encouraged us, and stood beside us through this entire journey — we couldn’t have done this without you.
To my husband, Joey, and our kids — thank you for sharing me with this dream, for putting up with the chaos, and for believing in me even on the days I struggled to believe in myself. I love y’all more than words can say.
And to our incredible Takery girls — THANK YOU for working so hard and helping make today so special! ❤️
I’ve said it from the beginning: I never wanted the Takery to be just another store. I wanted it to feel like home. A place where you could walk in, gather around the table, visit awhile, laugh a little, maybe even dance a little, and leave feeling like family.
And today, that’s exactly what it felt like.
God has been SO faithful through every single part of this journey. Even in the hard moments, even when I couldn’t see what He was doing, He was working.
We’re just a little over a month into this adventure, and I know we still have so much to learn, but goodness gracious, what a beautiful beginning this has been.
Stockdale, THANK YOU for loving our little Takery as much as we do. You’ve made this Mississippi girl feel right at home in Texas. 🥹❤️
Here’s to good food, full hearts, loud Zydeco music, a whole lot of dancing, new friendships, and many more memories made around our table!
