Colton and I started our journey to farming with a passion for native ecosystems and the improvements of such. 🌱

The top of our goal list is establishing native trees for Silvo pasture. If you’ve never compared native vs non native root systems, I encourage you to do so!

“The healthy soil conditions created by silvo pasture include increased soil porosity, increased water-holding capacity, an abundance of root litter and root exudates, inclination from the bacteria in cow manure, and more. (Udawatta and Jose, 2012)” - NCAT article Climate Beneficial Practices. I will see if I can link it in the comments.

T minus 5-8 weeks 🥳🐽
It’s really looking like closer to 5 weeks. Chimes belly is starting to get big! It’ll be time to put her in the farrowing pasture here in a week.

Shepherds pie tonight for dinner, but instead of lamb we are using ground pork. (Trying to conserve the lamb until next butcher date!)

P.s. we do not buy Worcestershire sauce premade. Why does it need HFCS!? Instead I mix together some of the ingredients that we keep on hand anyways. This batch of Worcestershire sauce, for this meal, is a mix of soy, ACV, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and cinnamon.
