While harvest is already underway in some of our warmer growing regions, the Pesenti Vineyard woke up under a thick blanket of fog this morning. Here, cool marine air slips into the Templeton Gap, tempering the August heat and giving the vines a little more time to ripen.

Beneath the fog, the vineyard is still unmistakably in late summer: parched calcareous soils, dry grasses, and ripening fruit.

This year, our Cellar Master, Julio, celebrates 25 years with Turley, and soon, his 26th harvest with us!

When asked if he wanted to say a few words, he simply said, “I would like to thank Larry (Turley) and the company for giving me the opportunity to continue working here for over 25 years, and for everything I have learned in the wine industry.”

Julio, we’re the lucky ones. Thank you for the care, knowledge, hard work, and friendship you’ve brought to Turley over the years. We’re so grateful you’re part of this family.

We were delighted to welcome members of SLOPE to spend the morning painting at the Pesenti Vineyard.

Local artists set up their easels to capture the landscapes, vineyards, and conserved open space that make our corner of the Central Coast so special. Their work will be featured for sale at the Octagon Barn Fundraiser benefiting the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County later this summer.

There’s something fitting about artists preserving a moment in paint while organizations like LCSLO work to preserve the land itself.

We can’t wait to see these landscapes through their eyes. 🎨🌿

Spent the morning checking in on the Dragon Vineyard.

Certified organic and perched at 2,250’ along the windswept eastern ridge of Howell Mountain, these vines spend their days above the fog line in tufa-laden volcanic soils. If you look closely, you can even spot Lake Berryessa in the distance. ⛰️🍇

The 2025 vintage comes from certified organic, dry-farmed vines from our Napa Valley Estate. Classic, bright and lively, with citrus zest, crushed white oyster shell, lemongrass and a hint of nectarine. Refreshing, zippy and dynamic on the palate.

✨ 2025 Zinfandel Rosé ✨

Absolutely gorgeous and luminously colored, with rose petal, peach pit and spiced wild strawberry. Elegant and polished on the palate with a pleasurable finish.

Crisp and dry with excellent length and character, owing to organically and dry-farmed old vines planted in the 1950s.
