There’s something special about opening an older vintage and giving it a little time to tell you where it’s been.
2007 AmByth Estate Grenache • Mourvèdre • Syrah
Slightly reductive on first opening, but after about 30 minutes in the decanter, it completely blew off and the w**e opened beautifully.
Nearly 20 years in, this w**e still has a beautiful presence. The tannins are very much intact, the fruit is still there, and a subtle acidity brings just enough freshness and lift. It’s evolved, but certainly hasn’t faded.
A lovely reminder of how well these w**es can age.
