The Pine Top Eventing family has lost a dear and valued friend. Luann German has passed away, and the horse world has lost a passionate cheerleader for the sport of eventing.

We met Luann many years ago when she was competing at one of our first events, and we became instant friends. After she stopped competing, Luann became one of Pine Top’s most loyal volunteers. She was always there, ready to do whatever job needed to be done.

Luann was truly like the Energizer Bunny. Even after a long show day was over, she could be found at Walmart replenishing supplies for the next day. Her energy and dedication seemed endless.

But what we will remember most is her friendship and thoughtfulness. Luann never forgot Glenn’s birthday, always arriving with his favorite w**e, White Zinfandel. She even remembered our anniversary, which fell during our February events.

Luann gave so much of herself to Pine Top and to the sport of eventing that she loved. We are grateful for the many years of friendship, laughter, hard work, and wonderful memories we shared with her.

Luann, you will be deeply missed, my friend. Pine Top won’t be the same without you. ❤️

The Making of Solomon Edwards

Long before Solomon “Sol” Edwards ever galloped a cross-country course, he was a fixture at Pine Top Farm—just not in the way you might expect.

He was the kid tearing across the show grounds on a bicycle, slipping into the show office to raid the candy stash, and—on at least one memorable occasion—climbing in and out of a scrap metal dumpster. At the time, a threatened “yellow card” meant very little to him.

Now 21, Edwards has traded childhood antics for serious ambition. With icy blue eyes, quiet confidence, and a focused intensity, he’s setting his sights on the top of the sport: one day competing at the five-star level at Kentucky Land Rover. But his story isn’t one of sudden arrival—it’s one rooted in legacy, shaped by discipline, and refined through years spent at one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
