Are your eggs made like this? Our new egg laying flock is now out on pasture with their electric fence up to keep out the predators. We should be seeing beautiful eggs in a little more than a month.

Making weekend plans? Come see us in Olney. We will be at the Olney Farmers Market this Sunday, August 30.

We are so grateful we were able to have Rex, a Dexter bull. stay with our herd the past three months. Today we dropped Rex back at his home. He was a very good boy while he was here and he loaded on the trailer better than a lot of horses! Enjoy being back home Rex! We hope to have some good news soon as we continue to expand our registered Dexter herd to bring our customers the best grass fed beef.

The new hens arrived! These Rhode Island Reds are a welcome addition to the farm and will be producing the best pasture raised eggs soon. They are settling in to their new shelter and will have access to the pasture in a couple days once they know where to sleep at night.

There are days on the farm that are harder than others, and today is one of them. After over two years of raising our steer, we dropped him off at the butcher today. And every time we have mixed feelings. It’s hard to say goodbye to an animal you’ve cared for every day, watched grow, and gotten to know.
He had a pretty incredible life—growing up alongside his momma and his friends, spending his days on pasture, sleeping under shade trees and being cared for and respected the way every animal deserves. We realize not all cattle experience that life and we are proud our cattle do. As difficult as today is, there is also something meaningful about it. His life will provide the very best grass-fed beef for our family and for our customers. Knowing that the food we put on our table comes from an animal we personally raised, cared for, and respected makes it worth it. Farm life isn’t always easy, isn’t for everyone and sometimes it’s bittersweet. But we’re grateful for the time we had with him and for everything he will provide.

We will be at the Olney Farmers and Artists Market this Sunday from 9am-1pm. If you haven’t made the switch to real chicken yet, come try our pasture raised chicken. Raised with fresh air, sunshine, non GMO feed, moved to fresh grass daily and foraging for their favorite grasshoppers- our birds live a happy life.

New to our farm is this mobile coop for laying hens! It was an investment and an adventure coming from its previous life in Pennsylvania. We will be greatly expanding our egg production soon- Still raised on our green pastures and fed locally raised non GMO feed. Our customers always ask for eggs and we want to deliver. This is a big step towards meeting the demand. We will introduce our new hens soon!
