Happy Juneteenth! ✨

On this day and beyond this day of celebration of freedom, one way we can celebrate & honor the significance of Juneteenth is by supporting local Black-owned small businesses & creatives! Celebrating freedom means showing up through action, community, and intentional support - not just today, but all year long. 🤝

Here are a few Black-owned businesses that have popped up at our x Designs with Jamie BIPOC makers markets at Cha Community Waco over the past few years that continue creating to this day! 💪💪💪

We’re so honored to have been able to cater the Families and Foster Care Coalition’s Evening of Encouragement dinner at Foster Village Waco last evening in support of foster care caregivers and those interested in foster care in McLennan County! Supporting children and families in our community is so important and we’re honored to nourish these caregivers! 🥟🤝✨

Don’t forget - We’re continuing to support Foster Village this month at all Cha Community locations through our housemade lemonade sales! 20% of June lemonade sales will support Foster Village Waco’s nonprofit programs that serve local foster, kinship, and adoptive families! 🌼🍋✨

Our new Osmanthus drink line releases this Saturday at all Cha cafes! This new limited edition drink line for June is made with our housemade Osmanthus syrup! We can’t wait for y’all to try this new fragrant syrup with our matcha, coffee lattes, or even our milk teas! 🌼🍵☕️✨

✨NOW HIRING NEW CHA TEAM MEMBERS - ALL LOCATIONS✨ We’re excited to share that we are growing our Cha Community team in Temple, TX and looking for 1-2 part-time team members to join our team.🤗

We are also welcoming applications for our Downtown Waco & 8th St cafes at 1001 Franklin Ave + 1205 S 8th St as we anticipate increased needs within our team from July - fall 2026. We’ll be hiring for 2-3 team members for our Waco cafes with starting dates in July. 🌞

Cha Fun Fact 8️⃣ These past few weeks have been filled with fun facts about Cha Community as we celebrate 8 years of business this week! We started up our business exactly 8 years ago today! 🙌

Did you know Cha Community is more than just tea and dumplings? In the past 8 years, Cha has given back to more than 35+ nonprofit organizations, grassroots, student organizations, & philantrophy efforts! 🧧 This doesn’t include all the in-kind donations or raffle/product donations we’ve also given back to local schools, organizations, and groups!

Our Cha Community co-owners have supported the community by serving actively on local non-profit boards including Waco Downtown Farmers Market and Keep Waco Beautiful and co-founding Asian Leaders Network - Waco nonprofit in to highlight cultural festivals and celebrations like Lunar New Year and Diwali each year in community with fellow Asian leaders & volunteers! 🎉🎉

Our storefront cafe spaces regularly host gatherings and community events like our bi-annual BIPOC and women makers markets, Waco Pride Network’s monthly Q***r Coffee, Sunday afternoon Temple Go Club meet-ups, Checkmate Waco Chess Club gatherings, community Profit Shares, Asian Leaders Network mixers, and more! 💪

Cha Community - while a business about tea and dumplings - is more than just food and drinks! We’re able to give back to our local community through a variety of ways as a result of y’all’s support! Cheers to 8 years and many more to come! 🤝

This floral is found throughout neighborhoods in Guangzhou, Taipei, and around Taiwan - where our co-owners Devin and Jaja and their families are from.

We’ll also be offering Buy One, Get One 50% off classic drinks & $8 Dumpling Boxes (for 8 count dumpling boxes) during food service hours at our Downtown Waco and Temple cafe locations all day this Saturday, June 20th!
