I have been fascinated by mushrooms as long as I can remember. I have studied them for years. I have foraged them for years. I have cultivated them in the past but have been consistent in cultivation for roughly a year now. It is definitely Chantrelle season! Although Chantrelles are growing wild right now I have no doubt these little babies came from blocks I planted myself months ago!

Y'all wanna know the farm kid's biggest complaint of the day? I mean what has absolutely devastated her evening?

"Mom milked the goat for me and I didn't get to catch fireflies with my dad this weekend."

We got a dairy goat Thursday. Lizard watch precisely 3 YouTube videos: how to milk a goat, how to properly care for your goat before, during and after milking and tips to make milking your goat easier. (Thank you Blue Cactus Dairy and Chick-a-woof Ranch.) With sale night being Friday and my having to work Saturday morning she was irritated both days she was unable to put this new knowledge to use. Since getting her chance Saturday though she has decided this is her 2nd job on the farm. She now raises rabbits and milks goats. Just ask her she'll tell ya. She was able to get the hang of things before ven I could and milked grandpa under the table. Only because he let her though. Which what the heck dad???
