Utilizing summer annuals has been a great way to provide forage in the heat of the summer when our cool season grasses slow down. They’ve also helped us transition this farm out of row crop production, slow erosion, and build soil back up! Healing an acre at a time.

We wanted to let everyone know Smith Family Farm will not be returning to the Hardin County Farmers Market in Etown for the 2026 season. This was not an easy decision for us, but with the demands of our growing farm and our off the farm careers, we decided to step back from the markets this year. With that being said, we will still continue to sell beef and pork! We will be available for home deliveries, drop offs, and pick ups from the farm. We will still be at the HCFM as customers, and hope to see you all there!

Contact us anytime to put in your beef and pork orders. Call or text us at (270)547-8484 or message us on messenger.

We really enjoyed showcasing our herd and breeding program this year at the KY Beef Expo. Our registered heifer found a great new home and we had the high selling commercial pen of open heifers in the pen heifer sale (sired by one of our bulls which made it extra cool). Always good catching up with old friends and meeting new ones along the way!
