New, New, New

We offer 8 different varieties of sausages, 4 kinds of bacon, 8 varieties of farmstead cheeses and a wide variety of seasonings, sauces, healthy grains and oils. But, how many have your tried?

I get it. We get use to buying what we know we like and it's quick and easy shopping. But, now we'll give you an opportunity to taste some of our products you might not have considered before. We are starting a monthly “Sampling Saturday” featuring product samples for you to try and experience their unique flavors and uses.

We are starting “Sampling Saturday” this coming Saturday, August 29th, in the farm store 9-2. This week we're featuring some of our newest pork samples- Apple Little Links and Pepper, Onion, and Cheese Grillers, along a spicy favorite, Chorizo.

Come on down the lane for all our nutrient -dense meats, chicken and eggs and treat your taste buds to the flavor of something new.

New products in the store this weekend- Pork Sausage Grillers with cheese, peppers and onions. Quite the yum. We will be starting "Sampling Saturdays" in the store next week giving you the opportunity to try different sausages, bacons, and a variety of our jarred goods. Watch for regular postings about our Sampling Saturdays.

This week we also have ground lamb and Merguez lamb sausage back in our freezer case. Lots of Mighty Fresh Eggs in stock too.

Store hours are Fridays 10-5 and Saturdays 9-2. Come on down the lane and take home some local deliciousness.

Around the Farm– Keep’em Cool

This week's summer heat can be a real challenge for man and
beast alike. Each type of critter at Evermore Farm has their own special needs.

Chickens only can rid their body heat through their combs
and waddles on their heads. When temps get over 90 de-
grees, chickens start to roll on their sides to help with
breathing but this usually has dire results since it can
cause suffocation. We run fans in our chicken house and
provide plenty of shade to help keep the chickens cool.

We provide wallows large water holes) for the pigs to
sink into to cool off in their outside run. They coat them-
selves with the mud that serves as a sunscreen for them.

The cattle are out in the pastures with plenty of water and
shade trees to beat the heat. They sleep during the day
and graze in the cool of the morning and evening. However, it's so hot this afternoon that we brough them in to the underside of our main barn where they can rest shaded and we'll put them back ojt in the pastures this evening when it's a little cooler.
