The Crop Report | Making Time for What Matters

It's amazing what can happen in a week on the farm. The flowers are flourishing, visitors are filling their cups with blooms, and the team is already preparing for the fall season ahead. Looking around the gardens right now, it's hard not to feel proud of everything that our little team's accomplished. But as Father's Day approaches, I'm also thinking about something just as important as the work: making time for family. After all, the flowers will still be here tomorrow.

A few years ago, we had what we still consider to be a million-dollar idea.
The Man-quet.

A bouquet... but for dads.

We packed it with flowers, marketed it with complete confidence, and waited for the orders to roll in.

They did not.

Apparently, the world wasn’t ready.

So we quietly retired the Man-quet and agreed not to speak of it again until Father’s Day each year, when we gather around and remind ourselves that we were simply ahead of our time.

And while the Man-quet is no longer available online due to (un)popular demand, we still stand by the concept.

Because honestly? Dad probably doesn’t need another grill spatula.

This weekend, bring Dad to the farm and let him pick his own flowers. He can choose every stem himself, which is basically the Man-quet experience... just without us having to explain the name.

We’ll be here. Waiting for our comeback.

The Crop Report | Look at the gardens!

The flowers are thriving. We are sweaty. The gardens are absolutely bursting with color right now, Pick Your Own season is officially underway, and every walk through the fields feels like a treasure hunt.

And just when y'all thought Steph was done having surgeries... surprise! We've spent the last week juggling hospital visits, farm work, flower picking, and all the usual chaos that comes with flower farming in June.

The Crop Report | A little more time together

June came in fast, and last weekend was a full one. A family road trip, graduation celebration, and a surprise overnight at Great Wolf Lodge with the kids. Coming back to the farm and easing into s’mores around the fire reminded me how much we all need those simple, unhurried moments. The fields are now open for pick-your-own, and everything is starting to feel like summer!

We came home to the grand opening of Pick-your-own flowers, and we have a new and exciting partnership with the Augusta Farm Trail. This summer, spend meaningful family time together exploring local farms in the county, including a stop by our flower farm!
