If we ship your club release, expect the wine to leave the Ranch on Monday afternoon on June 9th. We will update you in the reminder email if this date changes! Please let us know if you'd like to add any wine (perhaps the mystery library special) to your shipment.
Wines:
Mail Order White - paired with House Made Crackers with Whipped Brie and Peach Compote
2021 Le Soldat - paired with Pork Loin with Cherry Gastrique.
Special:
Our mystery library special is truly a mystery! Your only hint is that each mystery box will have the same varietal. Only ONE wine will be revealed and the other two are, as the name implies, a mystery! Papa Joe pulled from his private stash (so you know it will be special) to create this mystery collection. The price is only $200 for three amazing bottles.
The Soldier and His Bride:
After his discharge from the French military in 1890, soldier Joseph Jean Ginet decided to see more of the world. In Paris, he found work in a restaurant where he earned money for passage to America. Once in America, he worked his way across the country looking for a suitable region to start his own vineyard. In 1898, Joseph discovered the land he had long been searching for in Jacksonville, Oregon.
In 1904, Joseph returned to Savoie with hopes of bringing his fiancée and grape cuttings back to America with him. Unfortunately, her family would not allow her to leave France so he returned to America alone, with only his cuttings.
Joseph found other French families in Jacksonville, but was unable to find a wife. He eventually found a ‘mail order’ bride of French Canadian descent. Corinne Valiquette came to Sterling Creek accompanied by her mother. Joseph and Corinne were married on November 4, 1912.
These wines honor the soldier and his 'mail-order bride,' whose union marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. Join us in raising a glass to the roots of Plaisance Ranch.
Music:
Gypsy folk with an international flair by Wendi Sue & Steve formerly Borderline Music on Saturday!
Easy listening tunes by Conrad on Sunday!
Looking forward to seeing our club members next weekend.
Please leave your furry friends at home as we are a working Ranch.
