Scenes from the farm this evening. It was so nice out. I walked around a took photos while Jesse watered in beets and watermelons. We tucked the chickens in for the night in their chickshaw. 🐓😴

📣 [Harnett County News]: Harnett County is excited to announce that for the second consecutive year, the Health Department’s Elderly Nutrition Program and the Fuquay-Varina Growers Market are partnering to host a Farmers Market and Resource Fair dedicated to serving older adults and community members.

This year’s events will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Commons Area, located at 309 W. Cornelius Harnett Blvd., Lillington, on the following dates:
🗓️ July 1, 2026
🗓️ July 22, 2026
🗓️ August 19, 2026

The event highlights will include:
✔️ Nutrition workshops
✔️Community resources
✔️ Local farmers, vendors and more.

Here is our favorite recipe for eggplants. It may seem like a lot of work, but I promise you that it is worth it. We love dipping carrots, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes into it.

Heads up! Please mark your calendars. There will be no FV Growers Market on July 4th.

You will be able to place an a la carte pick up order. Orders must be placed by Thursday July 2nd at 8 pm.

You will be able to find us on July 1st at the Harnett County Seniors Farmers Market at the Commons Building (309 West Cornelius Harnett Blvd Lillington, NC) from 10 am to 2 pm.

As we were outside feeding the chickens and gathering eggs a front popped up bring a nice breeze and a beautiful rainbow. It was a welcome reprieve from the heat. 🌈
