This would be very bad for us and our beloved goats. They are standing in unity with their alpaca friends. Please no.
Update 3/20: Thank you for the outpouring of support against this location, the zoning board voted unanimously to deny this application. It now moves to the the Board of Supervisors for the final decision. This wasn’t a public vote but they received 413 letters to oppose vs 28 in favor.
an outdoor large commercial shooting range wants to occupy 128 acres adjacent to our farm. We don’t oppose the range but we do oppose the location. We need support in the form of emails sent to the zoning office in opposition of the location of this range due by 3/17 5 pm. This is how rural Iowa and its way of life die, disruptive urban mega complexes that would never be excepted in a city get pushed out to rural areas where they are also unwanted. It’s easier to force it in place against the will of long standing residents because there are fewer people to object. This isn’t about our little farm, this is about an outside corporation forcing their way into a location with a venture that destroys our community’s way of life through rezoning.
