Took the JV Team out over the weekend to the 2025 Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival (OFFF) Wool Breed Sheep Show. Went out on a limb with a curious entry and first in OFFF’s history, with one of our Texel ewe lambs. It was not at all the expected outcome that we walked away with. So humbled and appreciative of Judge Eric Wellman’s comments and evaluation of our Border Leicester and Texel ewe and our fleeces. Many thanks to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the sheep and wool show at OFFF what it is, your efforts are seen and appreciated. Thanks also to our fellow sheep peeps for helping us with our entries and allowing us to help you with yours and making more fond memories for all of us to look back on. You truly are the best!

Distracted as always, but sending out a quick thanks to all the individuals that helped us get nearly two dozen production sheep prepped to go be show sheep, "shown" at the 2025 Oregon State Fair, and home again to resume being productive. They are back to being grunge muffins, how they like it. Roaming the rolling hills of golden dried grass, sprinkled with evergreen and deciduous tree lines, just "intimately busy" ( wink-wink) awaiting the soon fall green up. Results of our efforts included Border Leicester's that made it to the Wool Supreme Show, Distracted Acres 25162 "Tribulus" making it to the top 4 rams. The Texel show this year was intense, flip- flopping of placings between each class between us breeders. This, confirming the Texel Breeders on the west coast are on the mark with their programs. We had Texels sneak out some top placers in turn making it to the Meat Breed Supreme Show with both our Young Flock and Get-of-Sire. On the side we had several Border Leicester and Texel fleeces in the wool show, pulling out a spectrum of places.
