Streef Produce is happy to announce that our facility is now equipped with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) — a life-saving device designed to assist during cardiac emergencies.

This AED is registered with local emergency services along with the Ontario Registrar and is not only available to our staff, but to the public as well!

We’re pleased to be investing in the safety and well-being of both our team and our community.

Welcome to Ontario Asparagus Production!

Each day throughout May and June, our crews are busy hand-harvesting our asparagus crop.

We use single electric powered harvesters as well as 3 and 5-person units to allow us to stay on top of one of the fastest growing crops in the world. (Yes, go ahead and fact check that! Did you know, asparagus can grow 6” in 12 hours??) ☀️

From the field, our asparagus is transported to our packing facility, where it undergoes a series of food safety and quality control processes. After product is rinsed and graded, it is bunched, labelled, packaged, and held in our coolers where it awaits outbound shipping.

A tremendous amount of love, care and hard work goes into our asparagus production, and we hope you enjoy the quality and freshness that our team works so very hard to provide. 💚💚 .asparagus

Proud to be a part of this incredible program!

Streef Produce has been involved with an Ontario project called Fresh from the Farm since day one 🌱🥔

This program allows students to raise funds for their school by selling bundles of fresh Ontario root vegetables and gift-boxes of fresh Ontario apples. The innovative school fundraising campaign serves to promote healthy eating to families while supporting Ontario farmers through the sale of Ontario produce.

Streef Produce works closely with program organizers, the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association and the Ontario government to procure produce and deliver it all to the right schools at the right time.

Since its launch in 2013, the program has helped over 3,000 schools sell more than $6 million worth of Ontario grown fruits and vegetables, equating to over five million pounds of product.

We love seeing Ontario potato growers contributing to amazing commnuity initiatives like Fresh from the Farm 👏
