When you’re a gorgeous little bird but a power outage cheapens your beauty to the quality of an early 2000s mug shot…

The second pic is how much time is left on the generator powering our incubators for the June hatch 😩.
This is small, simple, chicken farm life.
We work hands on, small batch, hand-hooking generators up to incubators while cheerfully telling the chicks in the brooders next to them that it’s going to be ok. We’ll keep you warm, hell or high water, babies. 🐥

When you’ve supported small, local, animal-loving farms, this is the grind you support. And we thank you.

Last Hatch of 2026 ➡️ It’s in😍🐣…

Well, friends. This is it! The last one!
We know some of you missed out on the last barnevelder babies so we’ve done one last set with what we’ve dubbed the 🌈 round: mixed colour Ameraucana, mixed colour bearded silkies! This batch is so diverse feather tone wise that even we couldn’t guarantee what colouring we’re going to get with this one - kind of exciting if you’re poultry nerd.

Babies due June 6-7th. 🐣🙂

Doing a Tim’s run ☕️- want anything? 😆😍

We’re a bit of a weird farm in that we make sure to work our bokin’ butts off to make sure the extra boys we hatch find flock homes, too.

It can be time consuming, especially when hatching season absolutely saturates the socials with posts about unwanted roos - but we firmly believe these little guys are just as worthy of life as their female counterparts.

Here’s one pic submitted by a customer of one of the black copper marans boys. We generally recommend keeping them in a crate for transport, but hey - he does look pretty chill about the coffee run. 😆😍
