Pomodoro Grosso di Rotonda tomatoes are an italian heirloom we grew this year! We are both amazed by the flavour, texture, and size of this variety, but also have a dilema on our hands because of the low seed count inside.
One of our missions here at the farm is to preserve seed varieties that might otherwise be lost, and help reintroduce more diversity into our food systems. However, this is of course is also in conflict with the realities and costs of running a small business! Therefore we also hope to educate and inspire home gardeners to save their own seeds at home too, to save money and also save more plant varieties from being lost.
We will be saving all our Grosso seeds, and we will plan something special to do with them to share this incredible tomato with Canadian gardeners.
