Very dry days as we head into Father's Day weekend. Kansas is in his glory with all his new kids. Dolly has a beautiful girl, Debbie. Dilly had a perfect little girl, Daisy! Luna is just hanging out thinking about life! The garden is bursting with colour with some June roses.

Our market is open each Saturday with fresh water buffalo cheeses and meats 10 - 2!

Lots of new babes. Aggi, and this afternoon Dolly gave birth, lovely little heifers and last Saturday Irmi - had i-Janey. The weather was perfect a little bit of moisture (not enough), but the cooler weather made it great for moms and babes. All are in the front field enjoying some nice grass - but we would still love some rain! Pow is having fun with his dad and being the biggest of the new babes, he is a real character. Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2

We are hoping for some more rain, we didn't get much. Never-the-less the animals are loving the cool. This week on the farm another new edition Ione had "Ipod". She is a good mama spening lots of time with her boy. Friday morning Irmi had a girl! We named her "i-Janey"! Mama and i-Janey spent the day inside and will venture out tomorrow. Meanwhile, Tess is just laying around in the cool. They are in a small area, as we have closed off pasture fields with the hope that some rain might help with the dryness and create new grass.
We continue to harvest forage from a number of farms in the valley, and we are grateful to those who respect our farm machinery as we travel at slow speed - on the Pacific Rim highway. The garden is coming along and so are the flowers pots, lots of colour. Our market is open Saturday from 10 - 2

Nice to have a tiny bit of moisture this week! We have moved mama water buffalo (Kansas the bull too), to a small area where the grass is high and lush. The back area is ready to be planted, but right now everyone is happy. Baby "Pow" is playing hide and seek in the thick grass! Kansas is thinking of his growing family and Gabby is just having fun!
Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2

Another really busy week on the farm, our first 2026 water buffalo babe! Pie had a lovely boy named Pow! He is a big boy and Pie is such a great mama. The garden is partially planted, the lupins and early roses are colourful, and the fields of grazing water buffalo - green as ever. Fingers crossed we get some rain this week to bring moisture to the pastures and forage. Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2

May long weekend! We blinked and now half way through May. Dilly only likes to go into the milking parlour on the right side, and also likes to be second...come on Dilly third is ok!

Everyone out on pasture and two young males, Dicky and Angelo always want their picture taken, they are also very cuddly. Feebie is happy for some attention and loves the days out on pasture. Four bears are grazing in the back field right now. Lovely to see. We have one small field left to cut by the house and the grass is a 1.5 meters tall making for some great habitat for birds and bees.

It is very dry so please take care this long weekend.

Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2

This time of year every daylight moment is busy. From milking, feeding, forage and garden. George the Rooster is helping to eradicate the buttercup (he thinks he is). The young water buffalo and milking herd are out on pasture. We keep them separated as the older females are pretty hard on the younger females. Its a process! First cut forage on the home farm done, lease fields underway. Gardens are getting planted and the grass, so far, is still growing. It is dry, but a few remaining mud wallows persist that evidence is seen on Aggi, oh yes she loves a mud spa!
Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2

A simply beautiful week weather wise we even had some moisture and then lovely sunny days. The water buffalo want out on the grass so bad! Finley keeps asking but this warmer sunny weather grows grass - so a little delay and we will set up some strip grazing for everyone to enjoy. For now they get to eat bales in the pathway and play with their food.

Back in the barn the young females love to get a rub behind the horn! We are open each Saturday from 10 - 2

Another mix of spring weather this week, the clouds surrounded the mountains and eventually we got a bit of hail, but we had a day of rain, some cloudy days and some sun too.

We are in the waiting game for babies to arrive, no 2026 water buffalo babies yet, but mama's are getting restless (Ione and Dilly might be first)!
Every morning the dogs help in the milking parlour, Boots waits for us to express some milk!
All the herd is restless too to get out on pasture. Still waiting for the frost to diminish before we begin pasture days! Even the dry cows (although content) are ready for some green grass.
The younger animals spend their days on the alley pathway, enjoying the sun when it arrives. At the end of the day everyone loves their barn. Our market is open each Saturday from 10 - 2
