🐾❤️‍🩹It's heartwarming to have people still asking about Winter's progress... She is doing well! 💕❤️

She pretty much can do whatever she wants to do. Still weak on her one side, and still working on physio, and still laying down more, but has gone back to chasing rabbits with Jasper (growing up with Jasper must've activated her prey drive as a puppy...). It was disheartening at first when she would disregard a rabbit when she didn't have the energy, so it's good to see her back at it!

Her bite wound is still healing - she got away with not having a cone all this time, but now that she's got more energy, she's been picking at it and she needs the cone of shame...

Still hoping for a full recovery, but she's happy and home and more stubborn than she was!

Plus, in solidarity, throwback to when Jasper was also .

Our offering for this Sunday's Parksville Farmers Market...

We'll have more of everything this time - I think everyone was pleasantly surprised at the turnout for the first market day; hopefully we won't all sell out so soon this time (sounds like we'll have double the vendors as well!), and we'll have some more for the folks rolling in a little later!

Produce is still limited with the season (and onslaught of slugs 😰- how come they are thriving in this hot draught?! The one benefit of this weather should be less slugs 🫩)

Excited to be a part of this amazing new endeavour! We'll see you at the MAC!

Hope everyone enjoys their strawberries! If you'd like to recycle your berry baskets, we can reuse them, so if anyone wi...

Hope everyone enjoys their strawberries!

If you'd like to recycle your berry baskets, we can reuse them, so if anyone will be returning to see us at the Parksville Farmers Market on Sunday, we can take them then!

Thank you! 💖🍓

‼️Fresh Strawberries TODAY!‼️

Thanks to the recent hot, sunny weather, we have a ton of strawberries that are ripe and ready to go. We'd love to pick the ready ones now when they're in the their prime, before the Sunday market (we are hoping to again have a limited quantity available this Sunday as well).

If anyone would like to buy some fresh strawberries, $5/lb, please send us a message. They are absolutely perfect right now, and hand-picked off the plant once fully sun-ripened, ensures a full-flavoured, amazingly sweet, juicy berry!

Ideally we get enough interest today so we can pick them all in the morning/early afternoon and possibly meet up at a decent time this evening (so they're freshly picked) that works for everyone, at the pull out right before the Qualicum Beach welcome sign off the inland highway. So tell your friends!

Our strawberries are naturally grown without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.

🎉We will be at the new Sunday Farmers Market in Parksville, launching this Sunday May 31st from 9:30-1:00, and for the rest of the season!

🥚We'll have our eggs available, as well as some pullet eggs for $5/dozen from our new flock we just got! Pullet eggs are small eggs laid by young chickens with a higher ratio of yolk; favoured by chefs as a premium product for their rich flavor and roundness.

🌿It's a little early and we have tons of stuff in the ground (albeit BEING EATEN BY SLUGS), but so far we'll have fresh lettuce, herbs, garlic scapes, herbal teas, and cut flowers. Hoping to have a limited amount of fresh strawberries available as well! 🍓

🥧We'll also be slinging some homemade baked goods made with our farm fresh eggs; pies, cinnamon twist donuts, and homemade marshmallows with our freeze-dried fruit.

🐾For all those rooting for Winter: Thank you for all the well wishes; it means a lot, and I'm sure everyone's positive energy has contributed to her sp*edy recovery in both body and soul. She is getting better and better every day!

The first few days were heartbreaking and it was rough seeing her unable to move. But she took her first few steps Tuesday morning, and it was such a relief just seeing her able to stand up again, knowing that she could, and ruling out the fear that she never would. The biggest relief was when she p*ed! I will not get into it, but these says, nothing excites us more than Winter's p*e and p**p! I think we were more relieved than she was when she finally went (without assistance at the vet)!! Never thought someone could be so happy to have warm dog p*e running down their arm, but here we are 😁😅

☀Beach Day for Winter yesterday ('cause she loves the beach, and enjoyed being lifted around on the sand...😅)! AND she p**ped on her own!

All kidding and 💩 aside, Winter is improving every day. Her short bursts of walking are lasting longer and are more frequent. Last night was also the best sleep she's had (she's been having nightmares). 🥹 She had an appointment today and our vet was very impressed at the sp*ed of her recovery. She is trying so hard, and seeing her walk was so very uplifting for us and we are hopeful for a full recovery. All her internal organs are functioning properly, she's alert, she's hungry, she's eating, and she's always been stubborn ( 🤪) so she definitely has the will to get better. The biggest challenge is that she is a big dog for us to move!

🐔In other news, we got a new flock of chickens today! Extra eggs and extra animals for Winter to go back to watching... In the meantime, Jasper's running a one-dog-show (very proud of Jasper for being respectful and giving her lots of space as well). Thankful to have everyone home.💕

We are so impressed and proud of Winter. Love our smart girl. Thank you Winter, for being so strong and brave, for coming home to us. For bringing us a miracle. 🥰
