What’s the Story behind our First Egg?

3 years ago, our partner built our second cabin.

Thinking we had learned everything we needed to know at a lower elevation, we moved up the mountain, from 950m to 1150m elevation.

Everything got harder. The slope was steeper, the wind gusts stronger, the sun more intense, the soil was rockier.

And we were restarting from zero. We needed a new outhouse, new dog houses, new fenced yards, new chicken coops, and more!

Until now we’ve not been able to properly house and contain our chickens in our new yard.

But today’s egg delivers a special reminder to us, of where we came from, and where we are now.

The future is bright, and our progress is evidence that we are going in the right direction — Up ☀️
