A little bit about us,

Sunset Country Farms is a small family run farm, establisehd in 2022, and located in the township of Conmee, ON, approximately 35 km west of Thunder Bay. We purchased our farm in 2020 and are excited to start raising pastured, hormone, and antibiotic free pork. In the spring of 2021 we got our first pigs to raise on pasture with the idea of using regenerative agriculture me

thods. We experienced first hand how rotational grazing allows them free access to move around outdoors, to root for nutrients and minerals, and wallow like they would in nature. This is a sustainable way to raise pigs because it increases the health of the soil that in turn provides better nutrients for the animals. The three of us, Melissa, Shaun and little Jack, are dedicated to raising healthy pigs for families and friends. We encourage those who are interested or wanting us to raise a pig, to come for a farm tour inthe summer of 2022. What we raise
For the 2022 season we will be raising yorkshire duroc cross pigs. Pigs are priced based on hanging weight. Hanging weight from the arborttoir includes skin on and head on. Hanging weight is roughly 170 lbs for a 250 lb pig ready for harvest. Price list
We are now accepting orders for half or whole pigs. Orders will be ready for fall 2022.
2022 prices are $5.40/lb cut and wrapped. You orders will be arranged for pick up in Thunder Bay. If you don’t wish to have your pig cut
and wrapped than arrangements can be made. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your pig until harvest.
- $150 depsoit for half pig orders
- $300 deposit for whole pig orders

Cut orders
Cut orders can vary depending on the weight of your pig. Please inquire about the many options we offer. Sausages, smoking and dry curing would have an additional cost.
