Allan Scott is definitely a maker to watch if you like a style with a bit more finesse and want to explore outside of Sauvignon Blanc.

Though, their Sauvignon Blanc is excellent, and in stock (while we wait for the Pinot Gris to return)!

You don’t see a lot of Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc in the Canadian market. Right now, we a fantastic one from Domaine Duclaux. Here, the winery walks us through the fermentation process.

Vinifying in oak adds more richness from the wood, sure, but in that, there’s a lot more that can happen to make the final wine more complex.

There’s a difference of 200 metres between the “Kirby” and “Little Kirby” single vineyard Gamays from . But in the glass, they are worlds apart.

Kirby is the deeper, darker of the two. To make up for the redder fruit, Thomas uses more whole cluster (the same technique used in Beaujolais) to help express the terroir better.
