South West Coast Path - Completed it mate ✅

5 years
54 days
630+ miles
34 full English breakfasts
100 odd cups of tea
4kg of bachelor’s instant pasta

It was, quite frankly, the greatest adventure I have ever had the privilege of completing. We started this after both of us finished reading the Salt Path books and were inspired to take down this beast of a hike.

Needless to say it was incredible. Growing up in a culture of hating the country you were born in (rightly or wrongly) jades you to how beautiful it actually is and my god is the south west coast a stunner.

But, best of all, was doing it with a man I am not just proud to call my father (biologically I have to) but to call a role model too. It has been an honour, and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. Can’t for the next one 🥾

The pictures are the first and last days of every hike plus a few extra from our time in the wild. I hope they might inspire others to do the same

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 EDINBURGH BAR SHOW 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hendrick’s is officially running the big closing party tonight and what a party it’s going to be!

To celebrate the recent launch of Another Hendrick’s we’re pulling in 2 of the UK’s best to come represent our 2 styles of Hendrick’s - Original & Another 🖤🤍

Representing Hendrick’s Original we will have with bar service on the ground floor and manning our Sgroppino cart with 2 creations of their own

Representing Another we have and contrasting upstairs with a big old raging party bringing along our old pal on the decks

But wait…..there is even more - inside this takeover lives a secret takeover, where both Swift & Lab have collaborated on a menu featuring both Hendrick’s expressions. We will be running this in seatings of 10 and it is RSVP only to give you guys the opportunity to get some nice intimate time to talk creativity with both teams

Please DM myself or Calum to secure your spot on in the secret takeover (limited numbers and limited seatings so when it’s gone it’s gone!)

11pm - 3am at

Can’t wait to see you there later tonight for an absolute belter!!

Origins of Originality - Class of 2025 x Lyaness

A sneak peek at the delicious drinks our collective will be serving you lucky folk on Monday March 30th

All of these have been inspired by the learnings from these 3 trips:

Whether it’s for building around the best produce for hyper-seasonality or for how to build in narrative and create relationships with suppliers, all these have had effect on the evolution of these drinks

And if you wish to get to understand that evolution then please join us at Lyaness from 3.30-4.30pm for a panel discussion + Q&A on the project

And if you want to taste them then join us for the takeover at Lyaness from 6-10pm

RSVP not required, all are drop ins so first come first serve till we run out, see you there! ❤️

We’re a week out for the Origins x Lyaness takeover 🍾

To remind you all - we have a panel discussion/Q&A from ourselves to get a deeper understanding of what this project was, what our 2025 collectives experienced and what the potential future of this project may be

Kicking off from 3.30-4.30pm

Following that we’ll have 4 sets of takeovers involving 8 of our collective to show the drinks they’ve created off the back of this project and give everyone an opportunity for a more intimate understanding of that creative process and how each of them has translated originality into the drinks for the night

Kicking off 6-10pm

We’re super excited to share what this project was and what it can be. So come one, come all, to experience originality from our 2025 collective ❤️

Origins of Originality x Lyaness

The class of Hendrick’s Gin’s inaugural Origins project, where our guests got 3, money can’t buy experiences, by getting up close and personal with 3 of the most creative restaurant teams in the UK (Ynyshir, Kitchin, Story) has very much graduated!

As we take a pause in 2026 to reevaluate what it hopefully looks like in 2027, we thought it best to give the trade an opportunity to come see what it’s all about and get a more intimate idea of the learnings our guests got from the chefs with a panel discussion.

Leading on to a takeover to experience the drinks created off the back of this. All hosted at one of the most key bars for innovation globally - Lyaness

If you want an opportunity to come see what was built, different perspectives on creativity and flavour and sample what something truly Original can be - join us on Monday 30th March

Panel discussion/Q&A - 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Origins Class of 2025 Takeover - 6pm to 10pm

We’ll see you there!

As the house gets closer to being completed, it is finally time to pass on what has been one of the greatest labours of love to someone who fancies a cheaper alternative to London life!

I’ve built this bad boy out from a shell to a fully kitted out home with:

- A newly build kitchen & dining area
- Roof decking
- Four poster bed effect bedroom with projector
- Living room with pull out desk and spare bed
- Bathroom & Shower
- Double wardrobe space
- Wood fire heating

The boat not only comes with the above, but also fully furnished too!

And all yours for £850 per month. No deposit required, just first month upfront + proof of standing order

Full disclosure - this cost covers my costs for the boat (loan repayments, insurance, WiFi & CRT tax)

Obviously it’s a hell of a change from life on land but I’ll be there to help with adjusting and assist building confidence in all things maintenance and driving (dw no need for a driving licence either)

Due to the extra labour that comes with life on the sea, the ideal candidates will be: People that are fairly handy in general and happy to get stuck in, folk that have lived on a boat before or couples (lightens to load, especially when driving)

Though it certainly isn’t the easiest of lives to live it is certainly a fantastic way to not only experience more of London but also to save money too!

If you are interested in learning more or wish to book a visit/tour please DM me to discuss further (and to the rest - please share far and wide!)

Love, actually ❤️

Our third and final instalment of is over and that very much concludes this years chapter of Origins 😢

For our third trip, we find ourselves in London starting off day one with a behind the scenes look at going through their prep program, what hospitality means to them and how they utilise it in their menu & drinks design

On day two, we had our partnership with the incredible team at understanding how inspiration comes to themselves and how it’s translated into the dishes they create

Finally, we spend day 3 with the team at getting to understand what they do there, the kit they use and how to play with it ourselves!

All in all it’s been an incredible experience. It’s been an honour work so closely, not just with the kitchen teams, but also with our team and watching the evolution of their drinks every trip. We can’t wait to see what they come up with for their menus in 2026 but stay tuned as we may have a little conclusion party on the horizon soon…..👀

Well this is a very exciting announcement on my end but lo and behold;

THE BOOK IS FINISHED!

This is a project I started about 3 years ago, that quite frankly, I wasn’t entirely sure I’d finish but towards the start of the walk I was pretty close so tasked myself with finally completing it

It’s in essence a fictional story of the stages of grief at the end of the world told through 3 separate viewpoints and stories with a slight overarching theme of Noah’s Arc

I’ll probably spend the rest of the year editing it to something I’m almost happy for others to read but we’ll see

Anyways. I don’t often say it (and thank you .mcrae for always poking and prodding me to) but I’m very proud of myself for this one!
