Sad to see our summer skewers ect hit the hay for another year but that’s why we love the changes

This weekend is all about the slow cook and roasting of luxurious rich dishes from beef to fine venison , game and pies
Wandering into the kitchen on a Sunday afternoon to be hit with the wall of flavour and tantalising smells coming from the oven and the hob .

Pies this week we have James our butchers luxury beef shin pies in the 1lb size as well as partridge breast with smoked ham hock , cream and tarragon .
Wild Venison wise - we have I would suggest the best selection in central Scotland including
roe deer a subtle rich venison very consistent at all times of the year
Sika venison which is not unlike a fine beef cut
Red venison a bit gamier than the others at this time of year but perfect for those red w**e casseroles as they will accept the additional flavours whilst still being the king of the dish
Brown hares are now available and are the classic goto for the ragu or slow cooked stews .
