HEFEWEIZEN RETURNS
It was once a royal privilege to make wheat beer in Germany, as the use of wheat was strictly prohibited under the Reinheitsgebot brewing laws. Only certain royal families were permitted to do so. It was certainly a regal affair, crafting this traditional German wheat beer that delivers aromatic, spicy clove and banana aromas atop a bready, pillowy, and soft body of malted wheat and pilsner malts. Our favourite little local penguin is back!
Little Blue is our unfiltered pale ale, loaded with Simcoe and Citra for plenty of bright, juicy fruit, then fermented with US-05 for a beer that happily sits somewhere between hazy and clear. A little blurry around the edges - in all the good ways.

The Brewer’s Table brings both together for one night at Alibi, hosted by Head Brewer Kynan Childs and Alibi chef Nathalie Maholy.
Begin with a welcome taste and a tour through the brewery with Kynan, before taking a seat for a three-course menu by Nathalie, with each dish matched to an Alibi beer. Kynan and Nathalie will take you through the beers, the menu and each pairing as the night unfolds.

The Kākī is one of Aotearoa’s rarest birds. Found deep in the braided rivers of the south and famous among birdwatchers for turning a casual stroll into a full blown expedition. Black feathers. Bright orange legs and a very selective social calendar. Lucky for you, our Kākī is much easier to find. Don’t let her brooding exterior fool you. She pours deep brown with ruby glints, a smooth malt warmth and a clean finish. Softer, lighter and far easier to approach than you might expect.

A dark lager for those who don’t drink dark lagers. Give it a try. Binoculars optional.

Every crossing starts and ends the same way. That red shed at Matiatia, watching it all come and go. First glimpse of the island. Last look before heading back.
It’s seen more than ferries and sheep. Late nights, borrowed speakers, gatherings that weren’t exactly planned but always happened. If you know, you know.
Red Shed is a deep red West Coast IPA with bite. Grapefruit, resinous pine, and tropical citrus lead, backed by a lightly caramelised malt line, finishing crisp, dry, and bitter. A beer for arrivals, departures, and everything in between.
