Two local Waiheke families with a shared vision have worked together to create a relaxed pub-style restaurant. A new home for each of our growing businesses, The HEKE is where you’ll experience The HEKE Kitchen, Waiheke Brewing Co. and Waiheke Whisky, ​all nestled into 4 acres of beautiful gardens. Open from Christmas 2021, the brand new restaurant takes its place on Waiheke Island’s much-loved go

lden mile, Onetangi Straight. With it’s striking interiors and sun-soaked spaces envisioned by Izzard Design’s award-winning architectural & interior design team, the ‘heke is a Waiheke first. A place where rustic meets modern, where class meets the classic kiwi relaxed island lifestyle. We want The HEKE to embrace the kiwi bach lifestyle. A special place to bring friends & family - relax over a roaring fire, watch your food be made in front of you as you dine, taste world-class whisky and watch the kids play on the giant jumping pillow. It’s a dining experience like no other on the Island. Next year The HEKE will be joined alongside by a spectacular new brewery, distillery and tasting room.

Long slow cooked by our chef - real authentic curry, to warm up your Sunday.

Served from 12 - 7 pm or until it runs out, if you want to nab yours. add 'Curry Please' to your booking online. And walk -ins are always welcome on Sundays.

A great way to end the weekend, and we do the dishes.

Every Sunday from this weekend, right through winter, we serve a special that-day-only curry.

Head Chef Andrei and his team make this from scratch with the best ingredients, slow cooking the sauces and changing it up.

This week we have 'Special Pork Vindaloo':
Charcoal-grilled pork (200gm), slow cooked house-made vindaloo sauce, shallot chilli & coriander salsa, on potato foam, served with a generous garlic naan bread.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Book your table, and add ‘Curry Please x __’ to the notes if you'd like to reserve one for you and/or your guests.

👑 We are open all Kings Birthday weekend for you to come and meet it! Chef says it’s the best yet. Try this:

Two Perfect Tacos: Grilled pork, chorizo, fennel parsnip whip, pear and parsley salsa, served on a small soft wheat taco

The Best Crudo: Today’s fresh fish, chilli lime dressing, tempura nori chips, mango, mint and coriander finished with a drizzle of chili oil

Beef Tartare: Edge-seared beef, thinly sliced, with shallot mayo, horseradish and watercress, served over fried rye bread

Charcoal Grilled Steak: Grilled Eye fillet, silken celeriac, onion jus, chives, crispy shallots

Roast Lamb Revival: Roasted lamb, smooth kumara mash, buttered baby peas, mint yoghurt sauce, kumara chips, kawakawa oil

Sensational Vegetarian Pizza: Bechemel, garlic roasted cauliflower, lemon tahini, leek and date jam, grana padano, parsley
Vegan minus bechamel & grano padano

Choritzo Pizza: Chorizo, roasted pumpkin, cavolo nero, pickled shallots, chili oil on a base of Mascarpone.
