AIX Rosé - at UTE by Mathias Dahlgren. A delightful rosé, simply made to be had outside under the sun. It’s a lively, fresh wine with red berry notes and a pleasant acidity.

This rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault - and it’s from Provence - the rosé capital of France.

We finally made it to Hotel Kung Carl, and Toby in the bar. The cocktails we got served were phenomenal. A cherry cocktail that actually tasted a lot of lovely cherries, and a boozy plum drink made using an exquisite bottle.

Thank you Toby for your hospitality, and your fine drinks. It was wonderful to meet you 🤩

We’ve tried a truly special malt whisky from Scottish Glenmorangie. This particular edition is created by Dr Bill Lumsden - Director of Whisky Creation and the legend himself; Harrison Ford! Yes apparently he liked Glenmorangie‘s whiskys so much during a visit to the distillery that he decided to get more involved.

And it’s a luscious whisky! Round, smooth, warm - with notes of apricot, butterscotch, orange zest, and with a subtle sweetness in the background. It’s very gorgeous!

Of course it could be used in a luxurious cocktail, but with a bottle like this we choose neat sips!

Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is available at Systembolaget, no. 9410901 and it comes in nice black box.

A fun evening with Vasa 1628 and Bella, at Søder Reklambyrå. Bella mixed two cocktails with Vasa 1628 - a re-creation of the world’s oldest liquor find. Found on the sunken warship Vasa.

First we got a Martini-style drink, followed by a long drink garnished with an oyster. Arctic Roe of Scandinavia then treated us with their black caviar as a lavish extra on top of the oyster.

Bella is such a pro behind the bar, and this evening turned into something very special much thanks to her. And of course thanks to the bottle itself, Vasa 1628 which is available via Systembolaget (no. 4131201).

Trying 16 different bottles of Chablis from Brocard, in the presence of Julien Brocard himself. This lunch tasting at newly opened Slussporten was something extra!

Chablis is an almost perfect wine. It works for a cheers, it’s a beautiful wine along with many types of food, and it is a top notch choice for celebrations and anniversaries.

Here in Sweden there are several of Brocard’s Chablis available at Systembolaget. A good start is the Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy (nr. 7125). A nice dry white wine with high acidity and notes of green apples, lemon and gooseberries.

CRÈME DE CAFÉ

22,5 ml white rum
30 ml Coffee Liqueur
22,5 ml Sambuca
50 ml Whipping Cream
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass over ice.

Hotels are such good places!

Proven once again during the Falstaff Nordic Hotel Awards, held at hotel At Six in Stockholm the other day.

Tove and team handed out awards to some of the finest hotels in the Nordics, and we cheered along during the gala. A gala that was also filled with so much to eat and drink. Oysters, caviar, Champagne, Västerbottenost, desserts, Portuguese wine and much more. Enjoyable, and a great opportunity to talk to colleagues in the business.

A shoutout to Tove for arranging, to At Six for hosting and to Provinum for the wonderful wine.

As the sun sets over Stockholm, the rooftop terrace at Lydmar Hotel transforms into Villa Minuty.

Here we will be able to sip on rosé wine from Côtes de Provence all summer. Minuty is known for their pale pink wines, and they are pioneers in making this style of wine popular!

And now Côtes de Provence unites with Stockholm in this stunning setting at Lydmar - Villa Minuty, adding to the existing villas in Paris and London.

We tried it out one of the first sunny days of this spring, and it’s as gorgeous as expected. There are different Minuty bottles to choose from on the menu, and of course there are snacks to go along with them.

If you find yourself in Stockholm this summer and fancy a glass of rosé, with free panoramic views of the city, then do seek out Villa Minuty at Lydmar Hotel.

Puy Chéri Rosé and Chèvre Chaud Salad.

This was a perfect pairing with our balcony, the other week. The rosé wine is from sunny Languedoc in France. The wine is made with Syrah and has notes of red berries. Perfect with salads!
