The grapes were ready for our sparkling wine. The decision was made. Tonight we would pick. As we prepared for the pick, 2 inches of rain fell in 30 minutes. We went ahead anyway and our dedicated crew picked all night long on slippery grass and dripping wet leaves. But they got it done. Bless them. Daybreak brought a beautiful sunrise and with it a lovely display of beautiful fruit. Thank you, Juan, Javier and Ana Maria. We are so grateful for you. Cheers to you and to a beautiful vintage 2026 so far!

The Pinot Noir Vertical is a very special tasting indeed. The five bottles we will taste together represent five whole seasons of winemaking here on the mountain. Five springs anxiously watching the weather report and praying for protection from frost. Five verdant summers and the crews tireless work, love and care. Five harvest seasons and the long days and nights to bring these bottles to fruition. So many stories to share!

Our facility has zero kennels & cages available.
This means both Animal Control & the Humane Society are both full.

We are over capacity on both cats & dogs despite all our efforts, adoptions plus sending out to other rescues that had a little room & availability to assist us.

This is a true code red, we never cry wolf, when we post this sadly we are serious & mean it.

Yesterday 8 dogs were surrendered from one home.
The week before 4 dogs from the another home.
This does not include other owner surrenders & strays the same day. Each day.
There is simply limited space, not endless space.
We are one of the largest shelters in this area, and we are full.
Let that sink in.

The Amherst Shelter is an open intake shelter.
