An ode to dolly. I’ve been listening to her all week and I’ve teared up to a couple of her songs. She is so 100% herself. And I can’t get this lyric out of my head “now I know we had no money, but I was rich as I could be”. That’s how I feel since starting this farm. It took me so long to muster up courage to go for it, and every day I feel so happy I took the leap off the edge to do it.

Fruit alert on the farmstand! Raspberries, apples, pears, and grapes are on the farmstand. All from warners farm and cold spring orchard.

The UMass Extension Vegetable Team visited the farm today and released parasitic wasps! There are so many ways to deal with pests that don’t involve spraying. One of my favorites is introducing a beneficial insect. These wasps specifically tackle bean beetle. We’ll be monitoring the next couple of weeks to see if the population goes down.

This first watermelon of the season has been cut open! Nothing better than feeding a room full of hungry kids a perfectly red melon they harvested themselves.
