Where the barn swallows fly
What a spring it has been!
First, the birthing report: this April and May over 90 lambs, 5 goat kids, and 48 chicks were born on the farm. Keeping everyone healthy and fed has been a challenge, but we were grateful to have lots of help this year from our delightful new employees and volunteers.
A large number of you turned out for our first ever Lamb and Kid Cuddles! It was so wonderful to meet our neighbors, and see everyone melt while holding these sweet little ones. We've also enjoyed seeing many of you on our trail walks and birding tours!
On the farm products side of things, our supply of lamb is getting low, but we do have boneless and bone-in leg, shanks, rosemary & garlic sausage, and a special on ground lamb -- buy 4 get 1 pound free (https://store.hollywoodfarm.com/shop/lamb-mutton/9) ! And, after some hard work by our resident bees, the beautiful, delicious honey that sold out quickly last spring will be restocked in a few weeks.
Here in Maryland, after a cool and dry spring, it already feels like summer. We're looking forward to languid evenings at the farm, overlooking the fields while the barn swallows swoop overhead. Hope you can join us one of these days!
