Weston Ott is your 2026 State Champion in both the Shot Put and Discus competitions. With a throw of 191 feet and 10 inches, he claimed the discus title. Later that evening after several weather delays, Weston launched a 65 feet and 2 inch bomb to propel himself into his second state title in a matter of hours.

Weston, watching you grow and succeed in these events from middle school, all the way till now has made us incredibly proud of not only you and your accomplishments, but of the young man you are becoming. We are so proud you and are excited to see your next great accomplishment! ☘️

Things are heating up at the intersection of Baseline and 500 East! Three families, four fields, and a whole lot of hay! Yesterday, the Barkers, Griffiths’s and ourselves were all baling our first cuttings. The best part is that all three of us will show in the Noble County Beef Show this July! This hay is certainly made by the best, to feed the best!

Another great day here on the farm! Dr. Mark James and his amazing wife Emily came and castrated the bulls and preg-checked a couple cows. We can’t recommend Dr. James enough as he does all of our embryo work and we couldn’t be happier with his work! Thank you Dr. James!

This is it! That final donor before the sale goes live THIS SUNDAY! So far we’ve introduced a lot of black cattle, so we figured it’s time to bring in some color! This is Ivy. She is a Fire Storm x NR Quantum Queen 463G. She was raised by the man, the myth, the shorthorn legend, Fred Ripburger out of Illinois.

Fred also raised Warner Ott’s 2021 Supreme Champion Heifer at the Indiana State Fair Rosie. Ivy was shown in the 2022-23 show season where she went UNDEFEATED. Ivy was named Champion Shorthorn Heifer at every show in her show career, including the Hoosier Beef Congress and Indiana State Fair. To this day we have never had another animal come close to this achievement.

Ivy has just gotten into the donor business as she is still young, but the work she has done is very impressive. She has a Perfection bull calf at her side now and let’s just say we’re excited. If Shorthorns are your thing, Ivy is the cream-of-the-crop.
