Is your course in the path of a storm? Your morning course inspections are going to be more important this weekend. Be sure to plan extra time to do a more thorough inspection before you open the course after the storm passes.

If you’ve worked with CDI, you’re part of this birthday. 🎂

As Challenge Design Innovations turns 16, we’re grateful to every staff member, past and present, who has put so much hard work into the projects and to every client who has trusted us with their vision.

You’ve given us a lot to celebrate. We hope you feel proud of your part in it.

We've been doing this work for 46 years, but we incorporated as CDI in 2010...so Happy 16th birthday to us!

If you’re a CDI client, we’d love to see you in Tacoma.

The 2027 ACCT International Conference is coming up January 20–24, 2027 in Tacoma, Washington, and we think it’s the best opportunities of the year for people who own, operate, manage, or work with challenge courses, ropes courses, zip lines, and aerial adventure parks.

Why go?

You’ll get to spend a few days with people who actually understand what you do.

People dealing with the same questions about training, equipment, staffing, inspections, risk management, facilitation, maintenance, and everything else that comes with this industry.

You can attend educational sessions, compare ideas with other operators, see new equipment in the Exhibitor Showcase, and build relationships with people you can call long after the conference is over.

And yes, CDI (Jim, Katie, Andrew, and Matt) will be there too.

Come find us at our booth in the Exhibitor Showcase. You don’t need a project. You don’t need a question.

Just come say hi. We’d genuinely love to see you.

January 20–24, 2027
Marriott Tacoma Downtown | Tacoma, Washington
Early Bird Pricing ends October 23

If you’re thinking about attending, now is a good time to start making plans.

Our client (and friends) at Crater Lake Zipline are making some national news. If you follow them on any of their social channels you will know that this is standard for them. They are a top notch organization with top of the line staff that are awesome at both the technical side of the job and especially the people side of the job. Well done!!!

A guide at Crater Lake Zipline helped a guest who made a potentially dangerous mistake with impressive overlapping skills.

Great to see our friend (and client) Jonathan Simmons and Flying Rabbit Adventures featured in Clemson World Magazine magazine.

The career of Jonathan Simmons ’00 has branched out to aerial adventure and a unique outdoor destination in Upstate South Carolina.

1998: Practical Magic

2026: Practical Magic 2

Apparently everything from the '90s is coming back.

If your challenge course is also from the '90s, we should probably talk about a major modification or total rebuild.

Right now, it might just be trees.
Or an open field.
Or a corner of your property you haven’t quite figured out yet.

But picture an adventure park here.

Platforms. Obstacles. Zip lines. People laughing, climbing, and doing something they’ll remember long after they leave.

It starts with a site, an idea, and a plan for the kind of experience you want people to remember.

That’s where we come in.

Challenge Design Innovations designs and builds aerial adventure parks, challenge courses, zip lines, and other adventure experiences for organizations across the country.

Wood. Environment. Elements. Equipment. Metal.

WEEEM is a simple way for your staff to remember what they should be looking at during daily course pre-use inspections.
