Due to the Wright Springs fire or really just unfortunate circumstances we have adopted a new LGD. This will be a challenge to teach him new boundaries and integrate him not only to our farm/livestock but to our home and other dogs including our resident LGD Hector who is very protective over me. I am working to make all dogs feel at home, remove the crazy mats and bring the newbie up to health and farm standards. He has a sister (fixed) who could also use a new home. Been around goats chickens etc both seem extremely sweet and willing to try. He came with the name "Gunner"... I am struggling with affectionate nicknames... HΓ©ctor goes by hectorbud, buddy and big dog... this guy needs am affectionate nickname!

The home farm is eerily empty... the wolf pack and I came back today to help Shane man the Bliss phones as well as anything else but really just for some comfort of familiar. The horses are doing well. We are so fortunate to be in the best hands of the Bloom Family Ranch. Owen even got to take a walk to meet the goat herd and Smores the goat, to which he was unsure about which species they belonged to... (my goat identifies as a dog/human)
The "kids" (Bunny, Kittie, Worthy) as usual are such a source of entertainment bringing smiles, watching their curiosity and play! Good thing those waters are durable because they are putting them to the test!
The poor Bloom yearlings thought there was a polar bear strolling their ranch this am... (I mean kinda)...

*Update** All of the horses and animals have been moved while Shane and I are staying as long as we can. Mom is ready to go when needed. We moved to a level 2 today while Penny and Jo moved to a level 3 and my dad a level 1. Thank you all for helping and checking in. Many, many prayers for all who are affected by this. πŸ™πŸ™ stay safe!

Kittie went on her first trail ride today! Such a good girl! She was taking in all the surroundings but also very aware of what Harry and I were telling her. I love the journey of bringing along these young horses and giving them so many opportunities to "mylenate" and grow! So thankful for my trusty partner Harry who puts up with just about anything I ask of him these days...

Just to keep the weekend running... from Dressage show to clinic with show judge . Harry was exemplary even when the work was hard.

It is not everyday you get to see someone AND their horse thru their Century ride. This weekend we all gathered to support and honor Jo and Rain, but... it also served as Gigi's first show and Bunny's first show... once again I am humbled by what a special crew we always have. This day was made special and memorable with the love and support of many! Deborah Wallace Stephanie Bonham Siennalee Kantola Ali McClure, Olivia and Gigi, Penny Pickett, Hannah Secoy, Cecily Perkins and especially to Shane Harvey. I am sure there will be a few more fun and professional photos to come. Huge congratulations to Johanna Weir amd Rhythm of the Rain for completing their century ride!

Merle and I practiced correct steering aids today. Cille Rose was the best teacher putting up with my shenanigans... I sat behind him, helping him to use his rein aids properly to steer his horse or pony. He then got back on his own pony, Mouse to put it to the test.
Merle has naturally adopted a driving rein and I made a conscious decision to allow him to keep developing this, as I believe it will benefit his softness in the future.
