❤️‍🩹Delilah🐾

Another friend at the barn recently lost their heart dog: Delilah. We created this portrait of her for a little shrine for her at home (swipe to see the sweet setup!)

First we took a favorite photo of Delilah and simplified it using photoshop. I then transferred the design onto the wood, then burned it all by hand. After, I sealed it with several coats of a water based polyurethane.

Memorial gifts are one of my favorites; I'm always so honored that people trust me with their sacred memories. It is something that will never be lost on me. Sending all my love to Delilah's memory and her owner 💞

🐴Stall Plate🐴

When I first joined the barn I ride at, a few people discovered I wood work and were so kind enough to commission from me! This first commission was for someone's personal horse, a simple stall plate!

I cut the wood and gave it a trim on the router for the basic plate shape. Then, I hand burned Holly in the font Georgia. It was finished off with Minwax's Ipswich Pine stain, and sealed with multiple coats of Sparurethane for added protection from the elements.

✨THE FONTAINES✨

In the early part of July, at THE most magical and fantastical wedding you could ever think of, the Fontaine Family was created. Melissa and Louise are two incredible people on their own, but put them together in holy matrimony, and the world gained an extraordinary family. To mark the occasion, this sign was created with their vision, a lasting keepsake for years to come!

Created entirely out of pine, this sign was a perfect way to get exactly what they were envisioning at a fraction of the price. Pine is an incredible and versatile wood, and the product was just as stunning as ever! The letters were carved in the font Adorn Serif, a whimsical font that still gives a sharp and clean appearance, then stained with Natural and sealed with their wipe-on satin poly. The board was constructed then given a round edge for a softer appearance, then stained in Dark Walnut and sealed with the same satin poly. After that, it was time to assemble and the finished product came to life!

Quite literally, back in the saddle

This is Justice; she's one of the horses I've been working with in my foray back into riding horses

I'm gonna be honest, this year has kinda blown. Dan and I started off the year with a devastating and traumatic medical event. What followed was a low low, that's still lasting to this day. I needed to find something to move my body more intentionally, something I loved, and most importantly, something to be obligated to show up for. Years ago, in high school, I rode horses. I always loved it, but I never took it far. This lost love, plus the fact that riding horses is actually therapeutic and beneficial for the conditions I have, lead me back. I searched the local farms and landed at the wonderful Aranelle Farms, and let me tell you, it's been so great. The horses are incredible, the people are so encouraging and impressive, and it's easily the highlights of my week. In the 2ish months I've been there, I've grown SO much, and I'm so grateful to them.

Social Prescription is powerful. Taking that step and being brave is healing in more ways than one. Once again, I find purpose and hope in trying a new thing. As always, Keep Dabbling!

Dabbler's Notch is officially an LLC! 🥳

We have toyed with taking this step for a long while, and with the way we have been growing, now seemed like a great time to take the leap! Excited for what's to come, and proud of what we've done!

Very proud of this! Been a while since I've been on the lathe, and it's been GREAT to be back. I definitely know how to approach this differently the next time, but I'm still thrilled with how this lil guy came out!!
