It rained (again) so we went to the lake instead of doing laundry & catching up at home. Zero regrets. Big week ahead filled with feeding all of the corn and soybean babies fertilizer. 🌽🌱

That’s a wrap on planting!!!

For now at least! šŸ™ƒ hoping for no replant!

It’s SO dry out there. Praying everything continues to emerge consistently and that we are blessed with some rain soon. But not too much rain, just enough. Is that too much to ask? 🤣

Shout out to our kids…they really are the MVP’s of going with the flow during the busy farm seasons. Also really grateful for our babysitter who helps fill in the gaps for us.

Next up: spraying!

Someday, when they’re all grown up, I hope they remember that he always stopped to throw the ball. šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Ten years of raising beef for your family + ours!

Thank you thank you thank you.

I still remember vividly the night Ryan came home from work and pitched the idea of investing into cattle. I was sitting at the kitchen table working on grad school homework with a baby on my lap. I think I looked at him as if he had three heads.

I’m glad I heard him out because this little niche of our farm is one of my favorite things.

We have some exciting things up our sleeves for this summer to celebrate!

We sell by the quarter, half and whole animal as well as retail style cuts if buying in bulk isn’t for you.

The rain has put a damper on planting the last few days, so of course we had to sneak in a ranger ride to check field conditions with Ryan. The kids have a love/hate with this and often times talk Ryan into a treat from the gas station for their hard work. 🤣

Good news though…We’ve got germination! The soybeans are officially off to the races. šŸŽ

Hurry up and wait is the name of the planting game…

Ryan was busy busy yesterday getting last minute things taken care of.

We were hopeful that forecasted rain for this morning would miss us so we could get out in the field Sunday/Monday but luck was not on our side!

Now we wait for things to warm up and dry out again.

Have you seen the beautiful cover crops growing out in many of our fields? That green sure is a mood brightener! 🤩

This fun memory popped up today! Seven years later and she still enjoys helping with cattle care. When she was just 6 months old we welcomed our first steers to the farm & I guess she has been hooked ever since!

Ryan has spent a lot of time cleaning up & maintaining tree lines along fields this winter. A job that isn’t always super fun, but 100% necessary!

Today he called in Grant for some help with the hard to reach spots! If you ever need a tree guy, call Grant at Sargent Land & Tree LLC !
