Moved 6 of our cows to a different pasture. They had all the grass eaten down where they were at. They loaded up easy so that was nice.

Put some panels up so we can move some cows to some new pasture later this week.

Put up some pretty nice looking alfalfa and alfalfa/oat hay today. Unfortunately, the lack of rain made the quantity a little less than I would have liked to have.

Why is it that stuff always breaks when you’re using it lol!! Luckily we had a spare so we’re back in business.

Well…..I guess we found the edge of the ditch by the creek and I know what I get to do tomorrow for at least part of the day! Hope nothing is damaged badly.

I was cutting grass hay Sunday morning and it wasn’t going very well. The header kept plugging up with fine stemmed bluegrass and it was just a pain in the butt. I ran out of time Sunday but today I was able to replace the sickle bars and several worn out guards. You can see the wear on the guards in the pictures. That wear causes it not to cut and just plug the haeder. I also adjusted the drive belt and found some welding that will need to be done this winter. Took it out in the field after the repairs and it was 1000% percent better!!

Doubling up the windrows with the rake. First time using it, took a second to get it figured out from distance but it was a quick job. Not the best video but I was operating and filming!

And just like that 210 bales (123 tons) of hay are in the shed and we are ready for winter! Big bales sure make it fast and easy to haul. Thanks TD Walsh Farms for the hay.
Now we start hauling our small bales.
Check out our upcoming posts for smal bale grass and alfalfa hay for sale.

My old man using the new tractor and loader setup. Much safer going 5 high in the shed than it was with the International 85C!

First load of hay for 2025! Great looking, leafy alfalfa we can put in our hay shed.

Getting everything ready to haul hay! Tire pressures, fluid levels, clean windows, grease, and hook up some trailers. One truck is loaded with old roof materials so I had one of my boys go to the landfill. I’ll need to remove the racks and make it a flat bed tomorrow.
