Saying goodbye to September—such a full month! We made wedding bouquets, tended to the fall flowers, and started planting for spring 2027.

We’re keeping the $25 mixed bouquets coming, packed with dahlias and fragrant basil and other accent flowers like celosia and marigolds and glove amaranth! Lots of these are available every week Nothing New and I’ll have a bunch at Fall at the Farm Ruffins Roost tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 AM -4 PM).

I made some special order arrangements this month for birthdays! It’s always fun to be creative and use the best of what is blooming.

More $25 paper wrapped bouquets from September. The celosia has been gorgeous this year! You can order these on our website for pickup as early as the next day.

I had the honor of making some large urn arrangements for a funeral in mid September. These were packed with the best of my garden, with some purple beautyberry from Teri Teri Jones .

Another special order, with pastel dahlias and Audrey gomphrena! Gomphrena, also called glove amaranth, is a clover-like flower that is very long lasting, and retains its color when it dries.

More of those $25 paper wrapped bouquets! They’re always different—and I have so many unique flowers and texture to incorporate. The golden brown seed head in the bottom left is amaranth.

Another view of the urns.

And another

And one more pic of the last $25 wrapped bouquets of September. I’m cutting more eucalyptus now, and it’s looking so pretty with the saturated fall colors. Or with white!

Here’s how we’re bringing flowers to you this week! Thanks to Teri Teri Jones for the pic. 😄

Kristy Blossom and Branch | Lake Norman Flower Farm , Teri Teri Jones , and I collaborated to pull this order together!

These are the paper wrapped bouquets I dropped off Nothing New today! Thank you for stopping by to grab these—they’re different every time and so much fun for me to make. These have some pretty shades of zinnias, marigolds from Beth Huber Patafio , African blue basil, dahlias, globe amaranth (the little polka dots), and celosia(the colorful spikes)!

Yes, we’re open this Saturday morning for you-pick!! Come pick flowers to make your own Homecoming bouquet if you’re at Concord High! Or just take advantage of these beautiful fall flowers.

So much is blooming in the you-pick! Dahlias, zinnias, celosia, phlox, marigolds, and African blue basil, just to name a few.

We are preparing for next year!! These are Sweet William plugs that came from Cedar House Farms —healthy and ready to plant so that they can form vigorous roots and bloom in April of 2027. I’m so thankful to have a source for plant starts in NC!

And these are snapdragons that Beth started planting out today! Crazy to think it is time for this once again. We are making more room than ever before for snapdragons, and planting about 4500 plants.

Did you ever visit a garden and wish you could pick the flowers? Here, you can.

Keep in touch, because you don’t want to miss your opportunities to come to the farm to cut flowers. Having a month-by-month schedule helps me work with our climate, our family events, and the heat of the summer months. We have evening you-pick sessions in the summer, since flowers don’t recover from being cut in the heat of the day. This Friday evening, Sept. 4, is the last Friday evening you-pick of the year.

Using glass jars has been an easy and pretty way for us to offer our flowers. I’m so thankful that people give me jars they’ve saved or inherited, and I love trading a box of canning jars (I need wide mouth quarts right now!) for flowers. I charge based on the size of the jar mouth and encourage you to fill it up!

When you pick your own flowers, you’ll experience them differently from ones you buy already made into bouquets—even Curiosity Farm bouquets! The reason is that those bouquets have flowers that have already hydrated—they’ve had time to take up water overnight at least, and are slowing down in their life cycle. When you cut a flower yourself, you’re stopping it short in its process to develop seeds. It will take at least a day to recover from being cut, get hydrated, and stop using quite as much water. I provide flower food packets for you to get those flowers their best start in the vase.

This year, I have enjoyed making lots and lots of these nice big bouquets, stuffing them with freshly cut flowers. 💐 I arrange all sorts of whimsical bits and pieces together, which makes each one unique. I used to view that as a problem, but I have come to embrace the randomness and enjoy it! Experimenting with different combinations of color and texture is a very rewarding practice for me, and it guarantees an ever-changing selection for you. I love getting requests for certain colors or beloved flowers, so ask away!

You’ll never find most of these flowers in a supermarket bouquet. And that’s not me badmouthing those bouquets—they are often beautiful and long lasting! But the flowers they use are like the tomatoes you buy in winter—sturdy, attractive, but lacking in flavor and subtlety. Many flowers I use are old fashioned cut flowers that have color variations, light scent, and a long vase life as long as they aren’t out of water for long. I include flower food packets in all my bouquets, and hope you use them! They really make a difference in vase life of certain flowers. And if you have hard water like I do, they’re essential. Modern flower food will make vase water more acidic and will supply sugars the flowers need to reach their full potential.

It’s a real joy to share the latest favorites at the farm, and to make up something that is beautiful and unusual.

When you order a bouquet for pickup at the farm, I’ll message you back to arrange a time for you to pick it up. If you would like to pick up at Nothing New, I’ll have it there when the store opens (10 AM).

My contact info is in my Instagram and Facebook profile, so you can contact me by email or phone, or order on our farm website any hour of the day or night! I can often manage last minute orders, but appreciate some advance notice.

Whenever I get a request for a bucket of flowers (or several!), I’m thrilled! It means that I get to assemble a lot of flowers that will work together for you to exercise your own creativity to create something beautiful and meaningful. We supply these all through the summer and fall, and every one is unique.

A bucket of flowers is a great starting point for creating lush and fabulous arrangements without a hefty price tag. Sure, you’ll have some added labor, but it is fun to play with flowers, and it can be a great group activity for friends and family.

Sometimes, it’s simple to choose your flower colors: just whatever is pretty and bright! Perhaps you need all white and green, or a lovely mix of pastels. I’ve been working with flowers and florists for years now, and I’m happy to work off of a color palette or pictures on Pinterest. We will make sure you have a beautiful balance of what inspires you. Fall blooms have rich tones, and using field grown flowers will add depth and subtle variations to your floral designs.

I’m so thankful to have several local flower farms that I work with regularly! Beth Beth Huber Patafio at her Faithful Farm, Jessica Church Creek Farm (gorgeous lisianthus!), Teri Teri Jones , my mom Diane Jones , and Sally bigdogflowers are the ones I lean on the most! I also order from Stemz periodically, a floral wholesaler that sells exclusively locally grown flowers and foliage. This network of other farms and Stemz helps me give you what you’re looking for. It’s also insurance if you’re planning an event—I’ll get you your flowers even if things go sideways here at my farm.

I always say at least 100 stems because I always throw in extras. I work with flowers all the time, and I know how easy it is to break a head off a dahlia or bend the neck of a zinnia. Since you have some extras, you’ll be ok even with a few mishaps. I use the

I thought it was time to virtually meet and let you all in on some info about our farm and our flowers!😊 We’ve been growing since 2018 and fall harvest time seems like a good time to celebrate that. We love being a part of the close-knit community of Concord, NC. Swipe through to see a little peek into our farm life. There will be more posts every day this week!

Our farm is only a couple miles from downtown Concord, between I-85 and Hwy 49. We are about 10 minutes from Mt. Pleasant, 20 minutes from Kannapolis and Harrisburg. We offer flower pickups from the farm and you-pick sessions on a regular schedule.

Even though my boys don’t like to be on social media, I have to recognize them for all they do! Along with my husband Jordan, they maintain the farm with mowing and string trimming, help clean up weeds, and pound in T-posts on occasion. I couldn’t do this without them.❤️

And here I am with Beth! Beth Huber Patafio She works here most weekdays and covers the occasional you-pick session. I prayed for the Lord to send the right person to fill her role and she messaged me “out of the blue.”What a blessing it has been to have her support and kindness here at the farm. Beth has her own where she grows specialty sunflowers and other beautiful flowers.

What farm would be complete without some animals? We have our ducks 🦆 which provide us so much amusement. They also eat bugs and slugs and offer some slightly standoffish companionship. Our dogs have probably jumped on many of you (sorry!)—Minnie is a 9 year old Airedale terrier who likes to guard the property and nap. Agatha is a Scottish terrier who occasionally hunts a vole for me, but mostly barks at bicyclists passing the farm. And our cat Cici lurks around watching all of us, sometimes visiting with people while they pick flowers.

I’m often asked if I grow vegetables. The short answer is no! The

We’re open every Friday evening in August for you to pick flowers! Drop in between 5:30-8:30 PM and fill a jar—quart mason jars are $20 and wide mouth mason jars are $25. The dahlias are about to start blooming again after their struggle with the July heat and extreme rain events we have had at the farm. So many zinnias and celosia are ready to pick, as well as some other flowers like Sweet William, African blue basil, phlox, and more. We can’t wait to see you.

The bees are buzzing and the flowers are blooming in the you-pick garden today! We ( Beth Huber Patafio and I) have been working and planning for the second half of the year. The fall season should be beautiful, and we are already planning for spring 2027! Stay tuned for a workshop next month that will help you plan what seeds to start for spring blooms. We have been enjoying the time with family and friends in July and can’t wait to supply flowers for your fall events. Thanks for coming out to pick flowers in the heat—the $15 jar special will run through the end of July, so you have 3 more Friday evenings to take advantage of that. All this sunshine and rain is making the flowers grow!
