Nelson Ridge Farm Brad just recently retired after a 29 year career in the US Army. He is excited to return home to his family and Dickson County. So, it's time to start planting!

The whole family is supporting this venture and we could not do it without them. The Nelsons have spent years now researching and visiting Christmas Tree Farms all over th

e country-from Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, and all over Tennessee. We have decided that this is the next step for us after a fantastic 20 years in the military. Enough with the research and farm visits...it's time to get dirty! So we planted a test crop of about 50 trees in 2013. We joined the Tennessee Christmas Tree Growers Association and have been on all the farm tours so far. We had success with them and will plant about 600 in 2014. They should be ready for harvest in 6 or 7 years, just in time for our retirement!

Dickson County 4-H’ers have been working hard since March raising their Barred Rocks and Cinnamon Queens. Over 20 pens of their pullets will be available for purchase at a live auction on Sat., Sept 5th.
📅 Saturday, September 5 ⏰ 4-H Poultry Auction will begin after the birds are judged. Approximately 10:00 am.
🐔 The auction is open to the public. Come out, support our hardworking 4-H youth, and take home some great birds while you’re at it! 💚🐔
