A lot of the work happening in a vineyard isn't happening on the vine. It's happening below it.

Cover crops helping build healthier soils. Beneficial insects moving through the rows. Roots searching deeper with each season. The thousands of years of minerals and history.

A vineyard is more than grapes. It's a living system.

The vineyard changes quickly this time of year.

The days stretch longer. Mornings arrive cool and quiet and then warmer afternoons come when the clouds push away.

It's one of our favorite seasons for Chardonnay.

Please note that both Purple Hands and Haakon/Lenai Vineyard tasting rooms will be closed for our Spring Pick-Up Party.

The little vineyard that keeps over delivering.

Tucked into the Dundee Hills, Kropf Vineyard is just two acres in size, yet it continues to produce some of the most acclaimed wines in our cellar, including back-to-back 94 point scores from for both the 2022 and 2023 vintages.

Today, we’re excited to officially release the 2024 Kropf Vineyard Pinot Noir alongside one of the final remaining opportunities to secure bottles from the 2022 vintage.

Out here, things don’t rush.

West Wind sits along the spine of Ribbon Ridge, looking out over the eastern shoulder. The wind moves through constantly, not harsh, just steady. It keeps the vines in conversation with their surroundings. Nothing gets too comfortable.

Beneath it, Willakenzie soil. Marine sediment laid down long before any of this was planted. It drains quickly, asks more of the vine, encourages roots to go deeper.

West Wind isn’t about forcing expression. It’s about listening, season after season, and letting the site speak in its own time.
