This girl, Hazel, I love her look 😍 She’s F3 Highpark. I couldn’t decide silver or dun tips but I think now dun. But her tips aren’t as “thick” as everyone else so it gives her a sweet innocent face. Also the longer her hair grows the more prominent the tips become so I’m really curious how she’ll grow. And her s**g level started medium but she’s catching up to my other F3 highparks—you can see it on her lions mane and skirt. And, the more she grows the more I’m convinced she’s chondro and polled. (I haven’t sent tests yet 🤦‍♀️)

I’ve had waaaay too much fun making ear tags!!! I started with generic ones and then switched to making ones for each name. I love them!

I’ve been thinking of offering custom tags for sale. Maybe once I improve technique and dial in settings for a little better outcomes. Plus, a better workflow so I don’t actually do the cleanup etching pass at 100% instead of 10%. L 🔥 🤣

Sunday truth. Cows are like toddlers. They’d rather have a late night snicker snack then finish the plate of food leftover from dinner.

Also, not gonna lie, the glowing devil eyes are a little freaky. I heard a noise behind me and turned around and it was super dark except for all the devil eyes. My headlamp lit them up for the pic. But trust me, freaky.

This girl is Jitterbug and she’s tiny and non-chondro. I’m tempted to keep her and try to breed over to my highland or highpark. But would all her calves be un-photogenic like she is? If I can’t get good pics she’s likely to be staying with me regardless of what I want haha.

A study in genetics! I kept thinking these two girls were pretty identical but when I put the pics side by side they are same … but different! Genetics is so fun!

Two calves out of Winter. First one is this year’s calf, Dixie out of Winter x Ryder, a stellar registered highland. Second one is last years calf, Ziti out of Winter x outside / unknown bull.

They look so similar. But Dixie clearly has those highland genetics. Deeper and thicker body. A bit more hair. I think her muzzle has a bit of different shape too. Similar color although Dixie is creamier white than Ziti.

We’re up to the social distancing part of our puppy adventure. 🤣 these guys are still little potatoes. But they can squiggle like nobody’s business! And while most of the time they like to make cuddle puddles, sometimes you just need a little break!

Also, if you use a kiddie pool as a whelping / puppy spot, I can’t say enough about these EZwhelp pads and an o-cello mop. We’ll see how it goes once these guys start moving more and mama starts cleaning less. But for now, BIG WIN. If you’re interested let me know and show or easy peasy cleaning process.
