Love promoting the Hawaiian Hoosier and the sweet Town of Ellettsville, Indiana. We're closed this week for some light remodeling, but come visit us during Monroe County Fall Festival. - We'll have LIVE HAWAIIAN music after the parade on Saturday 9/12/26 and try the Bunwich.

Hawaiian flavors have found a new home in the Midwest. Hawaiian Hoosier Snacks & Gifts, the only Hawaiian restaurant in Ellettsville, is bringing a taste of aloha to Indiana.

LET'S TALK NOODLES! Why are noodles a favorite? Fried Saimin, Chow Mein, and Chow Fun are all popular in Hawaii, but each one brings something different to the table!

In Hawaiʻi, Fried Saimin is often simply called Fried Noodles. It is made with thin, soft wheat noodles stir-fried with vegetables, seasonings, and favorites like Spam, char siu, chicken, or Portuguese sausage.

Chow Mein also uses wheat-based noodles, but they are typically firmer and may be cooked until slightly crisp. The flavor and preparation reflect its Chinese roots.

Chow Fun is easy to recognize by its wide, flat rice noodles. They are soft, chewy, and perfect for soaking up savory sauces and all that delicious wok-fired flavor.

Fried Saimin is currently served at the Hawaiian Hoosier - you should give it a try.

This week, we’re turning up the Dolly. 💗🎶🌺

Dolly Parton gave the world so much more than unforgettable music. She brought energy, optimism, humor, beauty, grace, and kindness wherever she went. She reminded us that you can sparkle brightly, dream BIG, work hard, laugh often, and still lead with a generous heart.

That spirit feels a whole lot like aloha to us.

So this week at The Hawaiian Hoosier, we’re celebrating Dolly’s incredible life and legacy the best way we know how, with Dolly music playing all week long. 🎸🌴
