She’s live! 🥳 and working!

I was venting with a farmer friend about the admin side of farming or having a small business being absolutely exhausting and overwhelming at times. The wonderful world of websites has been my crux recently! From getting an unexpected major bill with my last platform, to researching and trying out other platforms, to really nailing down what I needed out of a website!

I looked at my total sales from my website. I looked at the fees associated that I had lost. I looked at the annual fees. Ultimately I built a free website with Square which is who I use for my POS at markets. And even though I still own and can transfer my website name… I’m not going to at this time… because I don’t really need the paid version.

As long as people can find me online and as long as those who want to place orders on my website can do so I’m really hoping this free option works out!

In the end, it’ll be cheaper to print new business cards with a new website name than it will to transfer my domain 🤪

Horizon Farm Credit

Now I can resume the other hundred things I need to do but have put off to sit in front of this screen for too many hours.

Tentative and upcoming!

Will go live as soon as I finish working out the bugs on the website 🫣 and change over my domain.

How do we feel about Farm Fridays?? We’re pretty excited to show off our little slice of heaven and get kiddos excited to be outside and exposed to agriculture!

We’re working on a schedule of themes, craft, and activities now!

Yesterday was pretty cool. I had noticed this birds nest last week. Suddenly when we were picking pears we noticed this little guy standing perfectly still waiting for us to leave.

Seek tells me it’s a baby mockingbird.

Some ewes had been dried off, some lambs still needed to be weaned… but ALL ewes needed to be separated. Super happy we checked that task off of the list and our brand new $10,000 hot fence is keeping those lambs contained.

While many things have been hard this brutal summer one thing I desperately needed in order to preserve my sanity come February is not to start lambing 😂

I have five openings for whole lamb sales for this Fall. Process date Nov/Dec. Reach out to put down your deposit. These will go fast.

We’re breeding first week of November. If you’re interested in a bred ewe reach out to get on the interest list. Planning for Easter lambs! 🐣🐑🐰
