Seems like winter is taking forever this year, but in just 2 weeks ill be tapping trees again, marking the beginning of the "farming season" for us.
In a month, we will be in the greenhouse where its already 70 degrees every day, filling flats with promix and planting seeds that we've kept from last fall's best flowers and crops.
2 months from now, the taps will be pulled and ill be out in the orchard pruning trees and transplanting hundreds more from last year's nursery beds into their permanent spots on the farm.
By may, itll be green here. Time to prep the field for pumpkins, red corn, h**p, sugarcane sorghum, and sweet corn!! Mmm sweet corn... The days will be warm and we will be outside all day every chance we get mulching, forking, planting and transplanting.
Our farm stand will open this year for the first time. I hope I can fill it, and I hope you get a chance to stop in.
For now though, we wait. The pigs are full grown and ill send 2 or 3 to ubers every month from now till summer. We have lots to share so if you have freezer space and want to fill it with the best pork money can buy, message me and ill set you right up.
Its still 4.50/lb, same as last year. You'll have pork for st Patty's day.
