🤎Solution Sunday - Prayer First🤎
Prayer should not be our last resort; it should be our first ministry.
In Mark 9 a desperate father has brought his son to the disciples because the boy is suffering terribly. The disciples have tried to help him — but they couldn't.
Sometimes God allows us to come face-to-face with things we cannot fix, control, explain, or carry on our own.
The disciples had been given authority. They had seen Jesus do miracles. They had been with Him. But when this situation came, their own ability wasn't enough.
And Jesus tells them why:
“This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.” Mark 9:29
Prayer isn't simply something we do when we've run out of options.
Prayer is an acknowledgment that God is our first option.
The father demonstrates this beautifully. He comes to Jesus because he knows his need is greater than his ability.
And when Jesus says, “All things are possible for one who believes,” the father gives one of the most honest prayers in Scripture:
“I believe; help my unbelief!" Mark 9:24
I love this because God doesn't require us to come with perfect faith.🤎
The father essentially says, “I believe — but I need You to help me where I don't.”
That IS prayer. It says “God, I need You, I can't do this by myself.”
Prayer doesn't always immediately change the circumstance.
BUT prayer changes where we're standing in relation to the circumstance.
Instead of carrying the burden ourselves, we place it in God's hands.
So this Sunday, maybe the question isn't: “How strong is your faith?”
Maybe it's: “How quickly do you turn to God?”✝️
Because prayer reveals our dependency.
Happy Sunday sweet friends🤎
