All of my clients know I love my work, and the animals I get to help.

I love educating and explaining what/why I do things.

But I also LOVE learning from clients, rather it is about goats, pigs, building fences, or.... EMUS!!! Today I got to learn all kinds of cool things about these birds. I truly believe we are have something to learn and every day is a great day for learning.

Today I had the pleasure of working on Bentley's Sanctuary small herd of current goats. The treatment and well being of these animals was amazing. If you are looking to support a non profit who loves and takes truly amazing care of the animals Bentley's would be a great way to do this.

Combining my two favorite things, rescue, and goats was such an amazing thing.

The Hoof Boss in action!

I know I have many clients interested in watching how this tool works(have used it for months now) and am still just as obsessed, and to that I answer "come watch"! I do not mind at all if you come up and watch, just keep in mind if you are within 18 inches you will get some dust and potentially a chunk or two flown at you. I am so thankful for this tool that has made my work a gamechanger and has saved me from many hurt wrists and calluses!

It has been a busy couple weeks with the weather warming up but rain still very much here, so lets talk about hoof rot, none of the hooves pictured below have any rot but we have had a few within the last two weeks, so here are some things to know!

🐐 Hoof Rot in Goats
Hoof rot is a common bacterial infection caused by wet, muddy conditions and overgrown hooves. It can lead to pain, limping, and serious damage if ignored.
Watch for:
Limping
Foul smell
Soft or overgrown hooves
Prevent it:
✔ Keep areas dry & clean
✔ Trim hooves every 8 weeks
✔ Check feet regularly
Regular hoof care is the best way to keep your goats healthy and moving comfortably.

Several hooves required special attention today. Frequently, owners overlook their goats' hooves, and it is notable that goats are great at concealing potential discomfort, often potential issues are unnoticeable until we actually pick up and look at the hoof.

We did end up taking a little more off that left back heel, but I am very pleased to get these goats taken care of. One more good corrective trim and we will have these goats on a good maintenance 8 week schedule!
